Kitties Meet Buns

Cats are inquisitive, when they see something new, they have to investigate.  Bao Bao and Bei Bei meet French Angora Simone.

Hi, I am Bao Bao, what's your name?   Simone?  Pretty name.

Why is this "thing" on my bed?

You are so cute, so fluffy, what are you?

You are an English Angora?

Morgan is all Grown Up

I am so happy to see Morgan Oesterling at Reno during the ARBA convention. She has been doing great in the wonderful world of Angoras, winning Youth Best In Show at the ARBA convention at Louisville last year and Angora Nationals.   Though Morgan's photos have appeared on our blog many times, I had not seen her in person since 2018.   See how tall she is, or maybe I am shrinking!

Morgan and I met at the 2018 convention in Springfield, MA.  She had one French Angora at the convention and won BOB.     With a good work ethic in such a young age plus supportive parents, I had predicted that she would be a star in the wonderful world of Angoras in the near future, and that was realized in 2021.  See:

NARBC Hall of Fame Plaque at the Convention Booth

At the NARBC booth at Reno, there are lots of display things.

For a limited time period, a beautiful plaque is on display.

View from the top.

A close up look.   The four breeds of the Angora are on the plaque.  I am very fortunate to have my name on the plaque, second on the left.   This is the first time I have ever seen the plaque except in photo as the honor was bestowed on me in 2020, see:

There was no convention in 2020 due to COVID and I did not go to the 2021 convention in Louisville.    The plaque is done beautifully, I am very happy to have seen it.

Rabbit Statue? No, A Rice Cake

Carolyn Said:
"Look what I found at the Japanese market! A cute Kagami Mochi, celebrating the year of the rabbit. The stacked two rice cakes are a symbol of luck welcoming the new year. Let’s hope 2023 is a good year. "

According to internet information, This Japanese rice cake dish is a traditional food item used to celebrate New Year  that consists of two layers of round rice cakes topped with a small mandarin.   The images on internet show the top could be anything.  With the coming of the Year of Rabbit in 2023, a rabbit mochi is certainly very appropriate.
