Angora Goat National at Estes Park, CO

In June, the colored Angora goat national show was held at Estes Park, CO.   Two of our favorite rabbit judges went to have their animals judged.   The report is a little late, but better late than never.

We normally see Eric and Allen in rabbit shows behind the judging table while we were busy getting our rabbits ready for them to evaluate.  At the Angora goat national show, they are the ones who are busy preparing their goats to be judged.

Allen at the right is grooming his goat.

Eric is waiting for his turn to get his goat into the judging area.

A winner!  Eric's buck wins the class.

Another winner, Allen's goat wins big.

Mr. Brad Pit Goes to the Pet Store

Brad Pit is now a well behaved dog, Maureen takes him out to social and interact with others.   At the pet store, Brad gets to pick a toy.   In Maureen's words, "He picked the largest, most obnoxious toy to carry around the store and of course I had to buy it."

Meara Wants Her Babies

In the morning, French Angora Meara begs for her babies.

Are my babies coming?   I really need them.

Oh, my babies, I love you.

Good babies, I got all the milk you need.

What a relief, now you can have my babies back.

Babies are back to their condo just below their mama Meara's condo.  With full tummies, they are happy.

Happy and healthy bunnies.

While mama Meara is caring for her bunnies, daddy Jim is having fun in the exercise pen.   Jim has been in shows since he arrived in CA in April, he finally had his show coat harvested and now feels free to exercise.

Peach Time

A beautiful box of peaches.

Aren't these peaches inviting?

These peaches are produced by Melissa and Ed's family farm.  We all look forward to the summer shows to buy these delicious peaches that are picked just before the show.

Scenes at Watsonville

The show room at the Santa Cruz county fairgrounds is very nice, cool and clean, the floor is smooth, great for rolling the rabbits around.

A photo taken from the side where the Angoras are stationed: the front two rows are Betty's rabbits.

There is a flea market going on just outside the showroom, very nice smell from the food booths but the music is very loud.

In the mid and late afternoon there are a lot of people from the flea market wandering into the showroom.  They had never seen a rabbit show in the past, it's interesting to say the least.

The show is done, the judging tables are torn down.  Randy, Melissa, Timmy, ... are all helping to get the coops loaded.

It's almost done with loading the show equipment, the food booth at the far end is still yet to be torn down.

Ashley's Last CA Show

There are balloons in the middle of the judging area, what's going on?

The balloons are for Ashley who is moving to Ohio after this show.

Ashley grew up in rabbit shows, went from a youth Florida White breeder to being a judge.

Ashley and mother Jennifer are both judges, they are judging the show B Best In Show together.

Future Judge Coleman

Coleman is a new registrar who can't wait to take the judge's test; still a while to wait but for sure he will be a judge.    Coleman visits and talks to breeders in the show room to learn and to prepare to be a judge in the near future.

At Watsonville, he is checking on Betty's English Angora.

On the grooming table is Betty's 5-1/2 month-old white doe that later won Best of Breed in show B.
