Sally Having Fun At Monterey Fair

Our Malaysia friend Sally has stayed in the US for almost a month. She went to the Monterey show in August then took tour in other states including but not limited to New York City. She and uncle encountered hurricane Irene and east and experienced some very wet days. After returning to California, she visited the Castro district in San Francisco with Allen, then back to Chris Z's place to attend the Monterey Fair. She is very intrigued by Betty's English Angora.

Sally says, WOW, this buck has a lot of wool!

Sally joins in the conversation with top Holland breeders Deb and Chris Z.
Sally flies back to Malaysia the next day, she is a college student majoring in Pharmacy.

Seeing An Old Friend At Monterey Fair

During the 80s and 90s, Northern California Angora Guild had a membership of over 300. Linda was one of the members. She lived in Los Altos but now retired and moved to Monterey area. She used to be a part of the spinning guild in the Los Altos area, now very active in the spinning guild in Monterey. Her sweater has just won the grand prize at the Monterey Fair. It's a treat to see an old friend.

Old friends Betty and Linda take a picture together with Lilianna. Linda is astonished at the length and density of the current English Angora especially Lilianna's coat. She said she would be happy to get a 2-inch length when she was raising English Angora over 20 years ago.

Joe Elected ARBA District Two Director

On Sunday during the Monterey Fair, we learned that Joe Lugo has been elected as the ARBA district director. Joe served 3 terms in the early to mid 2000s and did a great job; he stepped down due to term limit. Now he is back representing district two again, we are all in good hands.

Joe feels the body of a colored English Angora, he is very much into the type of the animals.

Joe checks on a white junior English Angora, a family of fair goers watch with interest.
