Gifta is An Oldie but Goodie

Gifta is out in the yard waiting,...

At 5 years 4 months old, Gifta still has an amazing coat.

Gifta's coat is maintenance-free, no grooming since her last cut in February.

Not one single piece of mat or tangle.

Wish all Angora rabbits are this low maintenance.

Is Gifta going back to show?

With 52 legs, 48 BOB, 7 BIS and 6 RIS, it does not seem to make any sense to go to show again.  The next step is ......

Lilies of Nile

With the drought in CA, it has been hard to keep the lawn green or flowers in bloom.   The veggie garden is using the drip system that is very efficient in conserving water.    The Lily of Nile plants seem to be quite drought-resistent, or that these plants have been there for over 40 years thus deep rooted.   Enjoy the sights of these beautiful flowers.

Clarice is a Great Mom

Clarice is one of Debbie's winningest English Angora does.  She is a multiple Best In Show winner in the east, she also won her class at the ARBA convention when she was still a junior.  Here are some of the posts about her winnings:

Not long after she was cut down, she had a date with a chestnut boyfriend and became a mom.

She is a great mom, always keeping an eye on her babies.

Mama, I love you.

Lynx and opal?  Not the usual colors that we see in the west coast.

This little one looks just like mom, hope it'll be a big winner just like mom.

Lynx?

Or opal?

This is easy to tell, a chocolate.

Augustina with Her 13-Inch Coat

Augustina is 13 month old, is carrying a 13 inches long coat.

Her coat length is not enough to beat Franchesca's 14.37 inches Guinness World Record but it's getting close.

We have seen her when she was still a junior:

We have seen her being groomed when she was a young senior:

And we have seen her being a part of the experiment to compare the first and second coats:

Veggie Garden in Bloom

Cucumbers are in the height of production, there are fresh ones every day.

The cucumbers view from the other end.

A lone volunteer sunflower amongst the veggies.

Broccoli and green onions.

A row of young tomato plants.

Though still green, the tomatoes look healthy and firm.   Looking forward to seeing them turning red.

These look like cucumber vines, but they are not.   These are winter melon vines.  Cucumber and winter melon are in the same family, their leaves look about the same but the fruits sure look and taste different.
