Stephanie Exhibits Her Creation at the Lodi Grape Festival

Stephanie Berry has a very active lifestyle.  When rabbit shows are in hiatus, she is hiking, meeting with friends, ...

Stephanie also likes to garden, here in her work outfit, she harvest a large watermelon from her garden.

She enters her watermelon at the Lodi Grape Festival and received first place in its class.

She is very proud of her watermelon, even enters the photo in the photo contest and receives the first place standing.

Stephanie also enters a photo of Betty with Joanna that she took at Merced a few months ago.   Betty and Joanna are no contest to the watermelon.

Stephanie tries her hands in ink drawing, guess what? She won first place as well.

Stephanie also enters a rug that she hooked from sheep wool of two natural colors, first place again.

Last but not least, the little basket uses feltings of Alpaca and English Angora, another first place winner.

Mid Autumn Harvest Moon

Mid Autumn Festival is known to have the best harvest moon.

The moon on the evening of Mid Autumn Festival is considered as the brightest and roundest during the whole year.  It's an Asian tradition to be outside to have some snacks and "enjoy the moon" during the evening of the Mid Autumn Festival.

Mid Autumn Festival 2021

Mid Autumn Festival is one of the major festivals in Chinese culture.   It's the only festival that has a rabbit in the folklore.    Today September 21 is the 15th day of the 8th month in the lunar calendar, the day of the Mid Autumn Festival 2021.

Many commercial would put a rabbit in the graphics.  Here is one advertising the moon cake.  In case you wonder where are the moon cakes?   The two brown pastries under the rabbit are the moon cakes.

Here is another commercial from the same bakery showing the rabbits enjoying the moon cake.

If you are interested in the folklores behind the Mid Autumn Festival and how the rabbits are in them, here are some posts from the previous years:

Dasher is Growing Up

Dasher was just a baby in this photo, standing up to take a string bean.

He is now in a teenager stage, a youngster but old enough to show.

Dasher got a good coat and ready to show but there is no show available.

In addition, he needs to get the RHDV2 vaccination before leaving home.  So he is waiting, waiting and waiting.
