Rachel's Angoras Win Big at Wisconsin

After convention, many Angora exhibitors feel the love, during the weekend of 10/14-15/2017, many top wins were reported.   Rachel gets one of the tops.

Rachel reports:

At the Tri County Rabbit Show in Jefferson, WI this past Sunday, my French Angora, Charm City's Aosoth, won Best 4 Class, and my Giant Angora named Princess won Best 6 Class! My Giant Angora was then selected for Best in Show!

These were the only two rabbits that I brought to the show that day, and I was very excited about how well the did on the show table!

Alyssa and her White Senior Does

Alyssa's English Angora white senior does won a very competitive class at Indy.  She was not available for a photo op, Alyssa offers this photo taken just prior to the convention as a substitute.

Alyssa's French Angora white senior doe also won the class at Indy and she was available for a photo op.

Another view of Alyssa and her first place French Angora white senior doe.  Alyssa is a high school art teacher, after this photo was taken, she left the showroom to go back to her classroom.

We are curious what Alyssa's tattoo is, it's a hummingbird and flowers, beautiful!!!

Angora Breed Secretary Hard at Work

Melissa is the Angora breed secretary at the ARBA convention.  She worked side by side with judge Stacy for 14 hours straight on Monday to complete the open judging then got up at the crack of dawn to work another 5 hours to complete the youth judging.   Not only she took comments from judge Stacy and worked on all the paper work, she also updated the  NARBC page on Facebook with all the rankings in each class.   Those who were not able to go to the convention got the information real time.

If you notice there barely anyone is in the grooming area when Melissa takes a moment to help groom Deb's rabbits.  She did not bring any of her own rabbits so that she could concentrate in working at the judging table.

Melissa finally got a breather, she looks tired, justifiably so, she is the hardest working breed secretary we've ever seen.

English Angora BOB Photo

The Best In Show production projects all the photos of the BOB rabbits with their owners.  Sandra did the photo shoot then put the Indy logo with the photo.    I was not fast enough to get my own photo when it was on screen, it was a pleasant surprise that Sandra sent me the photo.

Sandra's Satin Angora Wins Double All Breed Best In Show

It's a first!!!  A Satin Angora wins double all breed Best In Show.

Georgia State Rabbit and Cavy Breeders Association holds the Fall double all breed Show in Perry, GA on Saturday, October 14, 2017.

Fresh out of the BOB win at the ARBA convention, Sandra's Satin Angora doe Mudblood's Beignet wins Best In Show from judge Allen.

Beignet wins Best In Show again from judge Cheryl.

While the English Angora, French Angora and Giant Angora win Best In Show and Reserve In Show regularly, the Satin Angora win has been sparse.   This is the first time a Satin Angora wins double Best In Show in a major event.   Good job, Sandra.
