Candy Corn Inspired Yarn

Maureen says:

"That will be my inspiration for this hank of yarn.  I am going to attempt to add beads.  My intentions are good but I have never used beads before so you may never see the final product!"

Yes, we did see the final product!

Maureen says,

"It went better than I thought.  I added a bead about every 12 inches even though I saw someone suggest one every arm's length.  I don't think every 12 inches was often enough though.  It was a success in that I was able to add the beads with minimal effort."

Happy Birthday, Jovonna's Kids

Jovonna holds the record of winning four all breed Best In Show out of four shows in one weekend.
Not long after that, she retired from shows to become a mother.   On August 10, 2016, she gave birth to her litter and here are her kids: tort doe Jada, white doe Jania, tort buck Jonas and white buck Jovas.  Each and every of the kids won BOB and becomes Grand Champion.   Today is their one-year-old birthday; Happy Birthday to Jada, Jania, Jonas and Jovas.

Jada has the most BOB win and a few of the specialty BIS and all breed RIS.

Jania has comparable winnings to her sister, only one leg less.

Jonas is the biggest baby in the litter, and he started his winning when he was just a young junior.  He also has won over his sisters in two of the shows and received BOB.

Jovas has a specialty BIS, that's very unusual for a boy.   He is very handsome and sure deserves the win.

Prizes for Best of Breed and Best Opposite Sex of Breed at Monterey

CRCS shows usually give practical gifts.   Instead of a rosette, the BOB and BOSB winners would get shopping bags, flash lights, key chains, ball point pens, ...

The newest prizes offered at Monterey are quite popular: Memo pads for BOB winners and giant ball point pens for BOSB winners.

Winning Best In Show is a Family Affair in Minnesota

Twin Ports Rabbit Club holds double open and double youth shows in Proctor, MN on Saturday, August 5, 2017.

Mother and daughter, Alicia on the left and Katelyn on the right, are a team of French Angora breeders.   Guess what they did this past weekend?  7 Pine's Arianna wins the open Best In Show for Alicia and 7 Pine's Luna wins the youth Best In Show for Katelyn.

Grandma Deb on the right isn't doing too shabby either, her English Angora doe 7 Pine's Ashley wins Reserve 4 Class to Alicia's 4 class win with 7 Pine's Arianna.     Arianna goes on to win the open Best In Show.  In the middle is the 4 class judge Michelle.

Judge Sheri is the Best In Show judge who picked Arianna as the top winner.

In the other show, judge Susie awards the Reserve In Show to 7 Pine's Arianna.

Judge Erik is very impressed with French Angora and the Rex, the youth Best In Show and Reserve In Show winners.

Judge Shane and Katelyn and the youth Best In Show winner 7 Pine's Luna.

Show C Angora Judging at Monterey

Show C judge for Angora breeds is Doug.  Doug is an old hand on judging Angora and there isn't any apprentice working for their judge's or registrar's license that day, things move a lot faster.

Judge Doug checks the underside of a white English Angora.

Judge Doug now works on the colored English Angora.

Judge Doug comments and Corinne records his placements.

The English Angora colored senior doe is really dense!  Needless to say that she wins the BOB.

Now it's the Satin Angora on the table.

Casey writes for judge Doug.

Judge Doug compares two Satin Angora and the senior doe gets the BOB.
