Convention Memories - Running into Brandy

ARBA convention is a fun place, one can run into many different people whether you expected it or not.   Betty and Casey and a group of Angora breeders went to a Vietnamese restaurant for some Pho as dinner and suddenly a lady came over and said, "You still remember me?"  Casey and Betty had a blank stare, and then she said, "I am Brandy".   Oh, Brandy!  Brandy showed English Angora in the early 2010s for several years then we did not see her anymore.

This is a picture of Casey, Betty and Brandy taken in 2010 when Brandy just entering the wonderful world of Angoras.  Here is one post about her showing:

After the encounter at the Vietnamese restaurant, Brandy came over to the ARBA showroom the next morning to catch up with Casey and Betty.    While lives for Casey and Betty remain about the same, Brandy had gone through a lot of changes.  As a result, she no longer has rabbits.   Interestingly enough, Brandy was on her way back to Utah, the stop at Reno was a very short one, how lucky that we all ran into each other in an itty bitty Vietnamese Pho place.

After all the changes, Brandy's life is on a upward shift.  Maybe we'll see her back into the wonderful world of Angoras in the near future.

Elsia Gets Ready for Her Babies

Spring time is bunny time.  Elsia is ready to make a nest, and she is inside the house in her maternity condo.

Hay is good material for my babies and these soft papers are very good too.

I should put these hay and paper in my box.

I can show how to do it right!

It's exhausting, I need some rest.

Bunny Congregation

We are cute little bunnies.

Our bed is comfy but food is better.

Hi, we are here.

Pet me, I am cute.

We are two different breeds, can you tell who speaks French and who speaks English?   We love each other anyway.

Eric Demos Spinning at Bradford

We all knew that Eric had gone to the most major show in UK, the Bradford Premier Show, in January.  He judged and participated in the activities.    One thing that was not reported was that he also did spinning demonstration at the show.   The photo is included in the February issue of Fur and Feather Magazine.    This magazine is analogous to our Domestic Rabbits.

Broken English Angora Wool and Yarn

Debbie has beautiful broken English Angora.

Debbie sent her broken English Angora wool to the Shaw family of Blue Mountain Mill in PA to be processed.  The result is  roving of 50-50 broken English wool with Merino sheep wool.  Debbie generously gifted 2.5 ounces to Betty to try.

Betty spun the 50-50 roving into smooth one ply yarn.

Betty also spun up some of her own white English Angora wool into smooth single ply on the right.

The is the two ply yarn with one ply of broken English Angora and Merino wool and one ply of 100% white English Angora wool.

This is the final result.   How do you like it?

Lipton is Not Happy

Lipton is not a happy boy, he is really upset with mama.  Why?

Lipton sees and smells pretty Gifta, he is really interested.

Gifta runs, Lipton follows.

Lipton hopes to meet Gifta but mama says no because both are currently in shows.  Lipton is not happy.
