Show A English Angora Judging at Monterey

Show A judge for Angoras is Jeremy Collins of AZ, with as an assist to judge Jeremy is Cory San Jose.
On the table are the English Angora breed for the judge and the assist to evaluate.

An assist is a person who has passed all the requirements to be a judge except the working experience in 8 shows under 8 different judges.  This is Cory's 5th assist.  If you feel familiar with his presence, this is his 4th time working with Angoras.

Judge Jeremy uses a hands-on approach in allowing Cory to handle and make comments of the rabbits in each class.

Judge Jeremy watches and listens to Cory making comments of the colored senior buck class winner.

The English Angora colored senior doe class is competitive, there are several good looking does.

Judge Jeremy and Cory go back and forth evaluating the top three colored senior does.

Young colored senior doe Raeberta is picked as the BOB English Angora. This is Raeberta's first time in a show.  She and her sister Raeanna just reached 6 months old on the date of the Monterey show.

Specialty Shows under the Redwoods at Corralitos

On Saturday, July 19 at Corralitos, CA, there are several speicalty shows going on. In this photo, judge Scott Rodriguez is judging the Lilac specialty.

If this setting looks familiar to you, it is because it was the same place and equipment used to have a RHD vaccination clinic during the height of double virus threats.

Lillian is the show secretary of the Mini Rex specialty show.

These are the competing animals at the American Fuzzy Lop specialty.

Matt Zemny is in charge of the food booth.

The Holland Lop specialty is going on.

This show started as a triple Holland Lop specialty show, it's called the "Triple Crown" show.

The redwood trees are huge.

Judge Doug King is working at the New Zealand specialty show.

If you wonder where are the Angoras, there isn't an Angora specialty show.  We thank Carol for supplying these photos.

Food, Rides and Animals at the State Fair

Fried Articokes are Carolyn's favorite fair food, mine too, wish I were there to share her order.

What's special about a burger booth?  Look as the "Smash Burger": It's a regular hamburger with Twinkies added.  That's very creative, or should we say it's kinda weird.

Funnel cakes are yummy!

California wines are world-known.

Winning a ribbon at the state fair adds prestige to the winery.

The Best In Show wine ribbon is what a wine maker dreams about all year long.

You can't go to any fair without seeing the merry-go-round.

And the horse-n-wagon.

If you wish to torture yourself, a high carnival ride is there for you.

Livestock is always a big part of the state fair.

Cows stay around for the week, sometimes the owners even time the birth of calf during a fair.

A hog in competition.

A lamb ready to go to the ring.

Youth goat show.

A Pigeon on display.

A kangaroo seems to be out of place in California.

A not-too-happy Porcupine.
