Angora National Open and Youth Best In Show Winners in OH




Angora National was held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 in Springfield, OH.  It was the same weekend as the WCC event.    


The BOB Giant Angora are littermate sisters and own/shown by two sisters: Ashley and Madi Shaw.   These two Giant Angora does went on to win the Best In Show in open national and youth national.

The open Best In Show winner is the Giant Angora shown by Ashley Shaw and Matt Bishop and the Reserve In Show winner is the French Angora shown also by Ashley Shaw and Matt Bishop.    Matt is judging at the WCC when Ashley is showing, so Madi stands in for Matt in the photo.

Saturday NCAG Specialty Show B Judging at WCC



Northern California Angora Guild sponsors two specialty shows on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Reno in conjunction with the WCC event.   The photos show the second show on Saturday.

Saturday NCAG Specialty Show A Judging at WCC




Northern California Angora Guild sponsors two specialty shows on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Reno. Reported here are the first specialty show.


Saturday morning starts with the first NCAG specialty show with ARBA district 6 director Jim Rowland.



The first breed on the table is the Giant Angora.   The Giant Angora is enjoying a resurgence of number and breeders.   Of the 75 rabbits entered in each specialty show, 32 are the Giant Angora.   At the current time, white is the only accepted color in the Giant Angora.



There are breeders working on colored Giant Angora, and there are 8 entered in the show for exhibition.



The next breed on the table for judge Jim is the Satin Angora.



When judge Jim is judging the Satin Angora, Kellyjo clerks.   Kellyjo is also a judge and also the COD holder of broken Satin Angora that passed the first showing in flying color last year.

Out of the four breeds, judge Jim picked Carol's French Angora colored senior doe as the specialty Best In Show.



The specialty Reserve In Show goes to Betty's English Angora colored senior doe.   These are the two same rabbits that took specialty Best In Show and Reserve In Show on Friday night.

Friday Night Angora Specialty Show at WCC





Blown Away Angora Rabbit Guild sponsors the Friday night specialty show at Reno.   On the table are the French Angora line up waiting for their judge.


Our first show gets the president of ARBA Josh Humphries as our judge.



The next for judge Josh are the itty bitty English Angora juniors.



This is the first time these little English Angora coming to a show.

On the table now are the Satin Angora.

West Coast Classic 2019 at Reno





West Coast Classic (WCC) rabbit and cavy show on the Reno/Sparks Convention Center program board.   



The convention center is huge and has nice facilities.



Here is a map of the facility, the WCC is held in Exhibit Hall 5 on the lower right side shown in blue.

WCC 2019 judges list.  The six Angora judges are: Josh Humphries, Eric Stewart, Jim Rowland, David Moll, Matt Bishop and Bryant Miller.




The judges lining up at the opening ceremony.  Allen is the emcee introducing each judge.  Adding to the line is Joe Kim who is judging the youth contest.  Joe is a registrar and was a royalty winner in his youth days.



The biggest prize each year is the Best of Best In Show.  The WCC has been a tradition for 10 years and 2019 is the 11th year.  The past 10 winners are honored on the banner.   





The middle trophy is called the WCC Cup, a perpetual trophy with all the Best of Best In Show winners' names engraved. 
The 2019 Best In Show and Reserve In Show winners receive KW carrying cages.
