Excellent UPS Service

Our UPS service is great, she delivered the three boxes of rabbit pellets all the way to our rabbit barn, see the upper left side of the photo.   I offered and she accepted a photo with Chu's Gordon who was out on the grooming table.

Who Likes the Tomatoes?

Large tomatoes or regular size tomatoes, these are all going to be consumed.  How to consume so many tomatoes?

They are peeled and cut up to be condensed into tomato sauce to go into the freezer.

A full pot of tomato pieces now half a pot of tomato sauce.

The tomato sauce are now in 10 bags to go into the freezer for future use.

French Angora Simone does not mind to share a piece of cut up tomato.

French Angora boy Samuelson really likes the tomato.

Some more tomatoes that ....

.... Bao Bao and Bei Bei would like to investigate.

Bao Bao is very food motivated, he wishes that the tomatoes are as tasty as chicken or fish.  He tells mama Betty that he wants to try it.

It's hard to believe that kitty Bao Bao also likes the tomato, just that the tomato needs to have some meat flavor after cooking.

Bao Bao drags the cooked tomato out of the bowl to enjoy.

Giant Tomato!

A regular egg next to a big tomato; how big is it?

One tomato, weighs 1 pound 12.3 ounces.

The biggest one is at the middle of the basket on top of the regular size tomatoes.  The one on the left weighs 1 pound 10 ounces.   These are harvested from Betty's lovely hubby Albert's veggie garden.

Casey's Jujube Bumper Crop

These are Jujubes.  What is a Jujube?

Casey loves Jujubes, these are sweet and crunchy when fresh.

This is one of Casey's Jujube trees, you can see the tree is full of fruits.

With the bump crop, it's impossible to consume all within a short time.   Casey put the Jujube in trays to dry them by air.

The top two are the fresh Jujubes and the bottom two are the dried ones. The dried ones are chewy and sweet, they can store for a long time.

Jujube is a common dried fruit in Asia, the alternative name is Chinese Date or just Red Date.  If you are not lucky enough to get some of Casey's, you can find these in an Asian market or even on line.   These dried fruits are either consumed as a snack or put into Asian style desserts that are usually steamed.  After steaming, the fruits become soft and a bit mushy but very tasty.  If it's peeled and pitted, the sweet mushy paste is also used as fillings in the buns or cakes. The Jujube paste is very similar to the red bean paste that is commonly used as fillings in Asian pastries.
