Delani Feels at Home in Rabbit Shows

Delani in Grandma Melodye's arms, nice and cozy.   Her blue and purple hat is knitted by grandma Melodye with the Angora yarn hand spun and hand dyed by Betty.

Delani made her debut at less than 3 weeks old in the rabbit shows;  the crowd and the smell of rabbits are all very normal to her, she falls asleep easily in a rabbit show.

Molly and Juan in the X-Rated Act?

Molly and Juan are not in the X-rated act but their rabbits are!

Molly's English Lop won the Best of Breed in the ARBA convention at Wichita.   Juan's English Lop won three Best In Show prizes at Cow Palace shows the week prior to Wichita but he did not attend the convention.   These two are joining forces in creating perfect bunnies.   Other English Lop breeders take note, it's going to be hard to compete with these two.

Babying Meara

Sunday morning at Red Bluff, Dawn is trying to calm down French Angora Meara who is quite unhappy being confined in her extra large carrier for two days and two nights.

Dawn says to Meara, "See, it's OK, don't worry, you will come out of this carrier soon."

Betty says, "OK, Meara, we can have some bonding time together.  I'll have my coffee and you can take a nap on my lap.  Don't worry, we'll be going home in no time."

Home is where Meara loves to be.

Jason Gets a Hair Cut

Jason is the Best Opposite White winner in the ARBA convention at Wichita; he is a very handsome buck.

All good things have to come to an end; on Sunday at Red Bluff after all the breed judgings are done, Betty decides to give Jason a hair cut.  Dawn helps.

Another view of Betty cutting Jason's wool with Dawn helping.

Jason has quite a nice body type, those who view the cutting commented.   Look at the the wool!

Jason's wool would be a good cape for Betty.

Which one is Jason, right or left?

Mom, is this necessary?  Do you realize that I am boy?  Boys don't wear pink, this is embarrassing!

Josh and Friends

Josh and his good friend new judge Don.   Josh travels to shows all over the country almost every weekend, he lives in TN.   Don lives in VA but he and Josh see each other in shows all the time.

Betty is honored to be called one of their friends, and here is a friendly photo op.

Stephanie joins in for another photo.   The baby is not Stephanie's new baby, it's Delani who has been "active" in rabbit shows since she was in her mom Danielle's tummy.   Delani made her debut in person at less than 3 weeks old in the Crescent City show weekend.

Best of the Best In Show at Red Bluff

There were 5 open all breed shows and 4 youth all breed shows at Red Bluff during the weekend of December 7, 8 and 9, 2012.

There were 8 different Best In Show rabbits (Randy's Mini Satin won twice).

Fredine, left in the picture, donates a prize for the winner of the Best of Best In Show rabbits.   This is not an ARBA sanctioned prize, the judge does not have to be an ARBA licensed judge.   Usually a new registrar is given such an honor for this judging.   This year, Coleman in the right is given the duty of picking the Best of the 8 Best In Show rabbits.    He selects Katealyn's New Zealand as the Best.   This rabbit is the winner of the youth Best In Show in show B on Saturday.
