Lighting Affects Rabbit's Appearance

Professional photographers use artificial lighting to optimize the photos they take.  Without having to buy expensive equipment, us Angora lovers can use the natural light to enhance the appearance of our photos.  Here are two photos of the same English Angora taken a few minutes apart, let's see.....

Franky, one of the fluffy brothers, is on a table in the shade.   It's around 6 pm, the sun is going down, the sky is not as bright.     Franky is handsome, but look at the next photo:

This is also Franky, this photo was taken only a few minutes before the first photo.  Around 6 pm, sun is going down but still have a few spots that the ray of sunset is shining at.   Putting Franky at the sunset ray results in this gorgeous golden colored photo.   There is no adjustment of the color by any software, it's the natural sunset color.   For a warm colored rabbit, such as the fawn and tort, chestnut, chocolate, ... the warm sunset ray is very helpful in getting pretty photos.   However, the rabbits with cold colors such as white, black, blue, ... sunset ray is not a suitable lighting, it's too orangish that distorts the crisp cold colors.

Debbie’s Handsome Chocolate Agouti Boy

We see quite a few chocolate agouti French Angora in the N. CA area but we seldom see chocolate agouti English Angora.  Debbie in VA shares some photos of her handsome chocolate agouti English Angora.  Really nice color and type.   He is less than 4 months old, already showing the show potential.  Debbie plans to bring him to the ARBA convention in October; if you are looking for a nice herd buck, you may want to talk to Debbie.

Art of Spinning Pass Down to Future Generation

Carol has several spinnng wheels, this is one of her favorites.

Here is a closeup of what's already on the bobbin of the wheel.

Carol's grandson wants to learn spinning, Carol is more than happy to teach him.

Kids nowadays are more interested in computer games or cell phones, it's unusual and gratifying that Carol's grandson wants to learn the old style art of spinning.

This is grandson's first spun yarn.

Carol saved her first spun yarn in 2006, it's not that different from her grandson's first effort.  She is very happy that she could pass down the art of spinning to her grandson.

Kimono Pets

Kimono is the traditional Japanese clothing.   Here are some cute little rabbit dolls wrapped in tiny kimonos.

Dogs are people's best friends, they are always willing to please.  Dressing up in Kimono is a cute thing to do.

Cats are generally independent.  It's an accomplishment to get a cat to dress up.  Here is an accomplishment.

I am a fan of white cats, I wish my white boy cats would be willing to dress in kimonos but I really doubt it.  They probably would shed the clothing.

Persians are as gentle as the English Angora, dressing up is a fun game.

What can we say, an orange cat in pink kimono, very cute.
