Bunnies from Marissa and Bruno

Happy news from our Ohio member Maureen, mom of Chu's Bruno and Chu's Marissa.

Marissa and Bruno fell in love and resulted in a beautiful litter of four bunnies. Marissa is a good mother, cares for her bunnies well. All four are healthy and beautiful. There is no doubt that they will be major show rabbits in Ohio in the spring.

Stephanie and Her Chinchilla

Stephanie has been a long time member of the Northern California Angora Guild. She had Satin Angora years ago, and competed on the shows. She and family have since moved to a house on a golf course, which is not suitable to having many animals. She now has a few small rabbits and acquired a chinchilla. Stephanie talks about going back to Angora some day, and we hope that day will be very soon.

Chris and Her Beautiful Scarves

Chris is one of our top judges. She is well-known for her top quality Holland Lop all over the country. In the 2005 ARBA convention, her junior buck won the Best of Breed over 1,000 entries.

She has acquired a new hobby recently: knitting. Most of the Angora people spin and knit, and this common interest gets us together. Chris uses Angora yarn combined with commercial novalty yarn to create a unique look for her scarves. Here are two photos of her modeling two of her beautiful creations.

Maya, a Talented Young Lady

Maya is the only youth exhibitor of English Angora in the northern California area. She is doing a very good job.

Maya is a very talented artist. She was working on her computer when Cyndie took a photo of her work. English Angora is very hard to draw due to all the wool and fluffs. Maya did a wonderful job in capturing the essence of an English Angora.

Happy Birthday, Mercedes

Chu's Mercedes, one of the most frequent winners of all breed Best In Show, is one year old today. Here is a photo taken this morning of the birthday girl. Her coat is in prime and free flowing, without any mats and in perfect texture. She will be going back to show table in January and hoping to have more big wins.

Her littermate sister Chu's Marissa, also a Grand Champion, has taken a different path in life. She is now a proud mother of 4 fat bunnies in her new home in Ohio. Mercedes will follow her sister's footstep when she is ready to retire from the show table, probably some time in late spring.

Rita and Larry

The majority of the shows held in Northern California have a common show secretary: Rita. Rita is efficient, friendly, easy going and always gracious in helping various clubs and exhibitors. Every time we see Rita's name at the secretary slot, we know we can e-mail entries, get a confirmation and meet a smiling face when we arrive at the show room.

Rita and husband Larry are top breeders of Satin and Silver Martin. Their Satin won Best In Shows often and won the Group in 2003 convention in Wichita, the same year Betty's English Angora also won the Group. On the stage, out of the four Group winners, three are from our local area. What a wonderful sight! Their Silver Martin are also frequent winners of all breed Best In Show in the show circuit.

Pictured here are Rita with her wonderful Silver Martin, and with Larry taking a break outside the show room.
