Kimekomi Exhibit during Obon Festival Celebration

Obon Festival is a Japanese Buddhist celebration that commemorates and remembers deceased ancestors.    In this year's celebration at Florin Buddhist Church, there are exhibits of traditional Japanese art.   We thank Carolyn Sawaii for sharing these photos of the Kimekomi dolls and animals.
Kimekomi doll making requires taking rigorous classes and taking on projects to qualify for advancement.   Carolyn has achieved high level of skill to pass many levels of examination.

Eric Visits Polly in Texas

It's so good to hear from Eric and Polly.  Eric Stewart is our ARBA executive director, we all know him.   He travels a lot, and he is in Texas.   Polly Holmes was the president of NARBC in the mid 1990s to 2000, she bred French Angora and Satin Angora.   Both Eric and Polly are colored Angora goat enthusiasts.

Polly's blue t-shirt is one of the prizes from the 1994 ARBA convention at Tulsa, OK.   Betty has several of these too.

This is Polly's "solar dyed" mohairs from the Angora goats.   It's 105 degrees in Texas!

Eric is visiting with an Angora buck at Polly's property.

We thank Eric for these nice photos and reports.

Loretta and Drew at Corralitos

Loretta is a long time Holland Lop breeder/exhibitor.   We see each other in shows for many years.

Loretta usually does not come to show with a puppy, but she has the cut pup with her at Corralitos.

Loretta even has her hubby Drew with her, Drew helps to man the food booth for the Nor Cal Holland Club.

Drew says that he's usually staying home to care for the puppy that is like their child.  Corralitos show gets both Drew and Loretta out and thus the cute puppy has to join the trip too.

Judge Doug is checking the wool on a colored English Angora.

The English Angora standard does not favor abundance of guard hairs.  This is a colored English Angora doe that has a re-grown coat.

This is the second place colored senior doe.

Here is a full coated colored senior doe that has a virgin coat, it is more desirable in English Angora.
