This dyed Angora wool is inspired by the colorful Sedona sunset.

Wynnona Concert at the Alameda Fair

Wynonna and her band The Big Noise are playing at the Alameda Fair.

The line is long.

Fans are enthusiastically waiting for Wynonna to appear on the stage.

Wynonna welcomes all the fans.

Wynonna's music is now more gritty and harder drive than in the old days.   She uses her full voice to sing and growl.    Her old hit songs all have different arrangements than in the original albums. 

Wynonna has been in the music business for 35 years since she was 15 years old.  At 50, she says that she has the confidence to do the kind of music that she feels right for her.   The drummer on the left is her husband Cactus Moser who used to be in the country group Highway 101.

Kate, Betty and Allen all enjoy the concert.   Allen got the fourth row seats for all, the Big Noise Band has very big noise, our ears are still ringing!

Brad, You are a Bad Boy

Maureen says,

I cover my sofa to protect from dog hair and dog dirt.  The sofa is slip covered, I paid a fortune for it for this feature, but also keep it covered.   Lovely, isn't it? Brad hasn't worked his magic yet.
 

 

Brad's life purpose is to find the opening between the two covers and snuggle in.  John asks me why I bother every time I go to fix it.  I wonder, too.

Jonas Gets A Hair Cut

Jonas is a very handsome boy.

Jonas has a big head and big nose, important features for a buck.  He also has the wool that could rival does.    During his reign in shows, he won over his littermate sisters Jada and Jania twice to have received the honor of BOB, the rest or the winnings are all BOSB, he has a total of 18 legs.

All good things have to come to an end, his show coat is getting hard to groom and that his brother Jovas is winning over him, it's time for Jonas to get a hair cut.     The first cut is always the most difficult.

A few more cuts exposes a little round back.

Jonas has great depth, now very visible with the wool removed from his back.

The cut marks makes his body look like a pineapple, such cuts are referred to as "the pineapple cut".

The pile of wool cut from Jonas is bigger than Jonas himself.  
Bucks can get really excited seeing a big pile of wool, they think there might be a doe hidden underneath.  When doing the final cuts on the underside, one has to be very careful not to harm his "extended" part.

Jovas Wins Specialty Best In Show at Portola Valley

It's a good days for the bucks.   In most shows the Angora does win over the bucks when they are compared.   At the Portola Valley shows, the BISS honor goes to two different bucks.   Yesterday we featured French Angora Austin who won two BISS and had fun with his lady friends, today we show the English Angora buck Jovas winning the BISS in show A. 

Judge Nate in show A picks Jovas as the specialty Best In Show.



Jovas has been playing second fiddle to his brother tort buck Jonas for a while, finally he is shining over Jonas.  In show B and C, his littermate sister Jada won BOB and he received the title of BOSB.   It's a good day for Jovas.
