Book Collection at the ARBA Library

We are showing some pictures of the book collection at the ARBA Library.

These books are all about rabbits, of course, way back into the time before we were even born. ARBA headquarter is far away for us, probably very few of us will get the chance to visit and read the books.

Thanks to Candy for sharing these pictures.

Mysterious Emilia

Chu's Emilia is accustomed to be the center of the attention. She is a TV star, she is a 13-time all breed Best In Show winner. She is used to be the queen!

Emilia wants to show the world that she could be as cool as Avanti, and be mysterious and beautiful at the same time.

Holly's Beautiful White Juniors

Our Canadian member Holly shared her beautiful white bunnies pictures with us on http://ncag.blogspot.com/2006/03/hollys-beautiful-white-english-angora.html

Now these white bunnies are growing up and making splashes in shows. Holly sends pictures of two of the bunnies that are now 5 months old.

The top two pictures are white buck HHR's Alaska and the third picture is white doe HHR's Arctica. They are littermates born to Chu's Terena and HHR's Rue. HHR's Rue is the son of Chu's Vance. They certainly have California connections.

Amy and Her French Angora

Our New York member Amy has beautiful French Angora, and she has a very well done blog that attracts many readers http://www.spangangoras.typepad.com/

At the top, we have Amy and her sable junior buck. The remarkable thing is that this picture was taken by her 8-year-old son. A potential professional photographer in the future? The two smaller pictures are her white doe Spang's Maris and black doe Spang's Kahlil. Both are well typed with excellent wool.

Amy is the president-elect of the national Angora club NARBC. Congratulations.

This month, we have pictures of Polly, NARBC president from 1994 to 2000; then picture of Margaret who is the current president serving her terms from 2000 to 2006; and now picture of Amy who will take office on August 1. All are serious breeders and able volunteer managers. NCAG is honored to have all three as our due-paying members.

Alice and Family

Though Alice is not into rabbits, most of the local Angora people know Alice because she has joined Camp Angora in shows. Alice is one of Betty's best friends since they were teenagers. They go way back, as far back as high school and college. Well, that means over 40 years, but who is counting.

Alice lives in Taiwan but visits San Jose on a regular basis because her son John lives there. Recently she came to attend her daughter Carin's Ph.D. commencement ceremony. The top picture is Alice with her two children Carin in the middle and John on the right. The second photo is Alice with son-in-law Andy, Carin's professor, Carin and John. The third picture is a composite of pictures taken with Betty and her rabbits when Alice and Carin visited Betty last winter.

Alice's husband Fuming was in Taiwan when the photos were taken. He is a professor of veternariary medicine, could not get away from his classes. Carin is following her father's footstep to become a college professor, she will be a professor of fine arts starting this coming September.

Congratulations to Alice and family.

Avanti Is Ready For Summer

Summer is here, it's HOT, HOT and HOT. Triple digit temperature is not a rarity.

Cool guy Chu's Avanti is getting prepared for summer. He has his shades on and ready for the town.

Avanti is one of the bunny models for the Merry Christmas post. He is now all grown up and has reached the Grand Champion status.
