Little Boy Triston

I am a little shy, I don't want to show my face.

Ok, you can look at me.  My name is Triston, I'm a little English Angora.

If you remember me, I'm here with my three sisters when we were babies.

I am here again with my three sisters: Brandice, Ellamae and Imari before Imari moved to Davis with Carolyn.

Freedom's New Diet

Carol names her daily visiting bun "Freedom" as it's free to come and go.  No one knows where it comes from or where it goes.   No one knows whether it's a boy or a girl.   More likely it's a boy since in three years of visiting, it has been alone.

Freedom has found something that it likes, Carol's roses.   Flowers or leaves, with or without thorns, it enjoys a diet of pretty roses.

Carol W.'s French Angora Sisters

Carol W. had shown French Angora for almost 20 years since the late 1990s.   Here is a photo of Carol W. with judge Lee Ingle from New Orleans, both are having a great time.

A little over a year ago, Carol W. decided to keep her French Angora as pets and fiber animals.  She decided not to show or breed but let the rabbits have a good time living out their lives.   She sent photos and said, "The girls are enjoying a day under the oak tree.  The temps are finally under 90 degrees and we can all be outside."   In the photo are littermate sisters Checker and Hunny Bunny, they are almost 5 years old but in great condition.   Checker is the mom of Henrietta and grandma of Rayna, all three are broken chestnut and they look very much alike.

Carol's new home is at Orangevale, it is in a much warmer climate than her last home at San Bruno.  The backyard is a lot bigger than the previous home so there are lots of room for the rabbits to enjoy some lawn time.

Preparing Uptown Girl's Wool for Fiber Competition

At Carol's backyard show in June, Christine took this picture of Uptown Girl who is in great coat.   In July at the Monterey show, Uptown Girl won over the young ladies and young gentlemen and won double Best of Breed.

It's summer, there's not many shows, it's time for Uptown Girl to contribute her beautiful wool for spinning and wool contests.

Look at her long and flowy wool...

… that has good combination of underwool and guard hairs.

Another view of her beautiful wool.

Uptown Girl's wool with long guard hairs.

Free of her heavy and long show coat, Uptown Girl now has the freedom to run on the lawn.

Uptown Girl enjoys the lazy summer afternoon on the lawn.

Grape Inspired Scarf

The red grape looks delicious.

The dyed English Angora yarn is inspired by the red grape.

The scarf is done!

Princess Imari approves the scarf.
