Eva, To Cut or Not to Cut? Cut

As we had read a while ago in
https://ncag.blogspot.com/2020/04/eva-first-best-in-show-satin-angora.html that mama Casey is considering cutting Eva down as there's no show for an indefinite period of time.

Mama Casey shows how beautiful Eva's sheen is, so hard to take the coat off.

All good things have to come to an end, Fiskars is on Eva's wool.

The first cut is always the hardest, mama Casey did the deed.

The rest of the cut is mentally easy to continue, here is Eva without her glorious coat.   Nice body, great depth.

The wool ring is way more than Eva's body.

May be good things don't have to come to an end, Eva will grow another coat for the next show season and mama Casey gets to spin this beautiful shiny coat.

Social Distancing

Statues of a dog and a bird, what's the big deal?

Look closer, the dog is wearing a mask!

Yes, the dog statue is wearing a mask.

And the bird statue is wearing a mask, this social distancing is really pushing to the limit.
We thank Carolyn for finding such this interesting site.

Casey's Beautiful Satin Angora

Casey has been doing very well with Satin Angora.   Eva the white senior doe is the first Satin Angora to have won an all breed Best In Show in this very competitive No. CA/Reno show circuit.   Black doe Obsidian Sparkle is the BOB at the ARBA convention in Reno and has won a Reserve In Show.

The two big winning does are in the middle and the other four are the new show potentials in the near future when the shows return.   Casey has had Satin Angora in the mid 90s but the Satin Angora then had very little wool.   It was almost not worth the feed that they consume.    The current Satin Angora are developed by Eric in PA and Sandra in GA, Casey continues the effort and brought them to a height in the show circuit.

Debbie's Handsome Little Boy is Growing Fast

Debbie shows the picture of this little guy a while ago, "I really like him"!

The little guy is no that little anymore, he is growing fast.   Debbie says, "Where are the F shows?"  We sure can relate to that feeling, where are the shows?

Look at the crimp.

Hats of Many Colors

Normally I design my bulky Angora hat in two styles: A solid natural color design as seen on the left or a natural color combined with dyed color in various different way of stripes.

After a while I've cumulate small balls of dyed Angora yarns that are not enough for one pattern.   This hat is done with natural cream with purple and pink yarns left from cream/pink and cream/purple hats.

I still have the dyed pink and purple Angora yarns left, combined with some blue and green leftover yarns, another interesting combination hat is created.

In addition to making hats with dyed Angora yarns, I also make colored fingerless mittens.   Fingerless mittens require thinner/finer spun.   I got a lot of thinner/finer dyed yarns in various length left from making mittens, each individual ball is not enough to make another pair of mittens.    A light bulb moment, why not put two strands together and use them as part of a hat?   Here it is, There are purple, pink, red, plum, blue, green…. all put together.   It's actually quite pretty.   Can it be a counter part of Dolly Parton's "Coat of Many Colors"?

Uptown Girl's Shining in Sunset

Uptown Girl has this gorgeous color!

The  California sunset helps to enhance her color.

Would you believe she is almost 5 years old?   She will be celebrating her 5th birthday next month.
