Who Wears The Pants?

This is a t-shirt designed by a bride given to her wedding guests.

What does the graphic imply?

(a) It's a set of Russian nesting doll: Opening the groom, there's the bride.
(b) The cat stands on water while the groom is half way under the water.
(c) The cat is the love linkage between the bride and groom.
(d) The bride wears the pants in the family and the groom is pantless.

Which explanation do you like better?

Double Vision?

Betty's two new cats: Mary Jane on the left and Nikki on the right.

Nikki is an older cat, very shy and insecure thus hard to get a good close-up shot.

Mary Jane is a young adult cat, happy and loves to eat.

Betty says,

"About six months ago, my last cat Shia Hwa died of old age at about 17 years old. We did not plan to have more cats until.... In the past I have done several posts on squirrels. They are very pretty very cute, but as my friend Janet would say, 'The squirrels are nothing but rats with bushy tails'. Over the last six months, squirrels virtually took over our yard. The worst was their invasion of the rabbit feeders. The squirrels became so brave that they would hang on the stackers and stick their heads into the J feeders to steal rabbits' food with their pretty bushy tail sticking straight up from the feeders.

We decided we need a couple of working cats. That's how I visited a private cat rescue organization called Town Cats of Morgan Hill. It is the most wonderful shelter that I have ever seen. Cats are not caged, they live in two large units in an industrial park, they would never risk being killed, if not adopted they live out their lives in the shelter. All cats adopted out are fixed, have shots and have microchip implants and the adoption fee is very reasonable.

I adopted two adult cats named Nikki and Mary Jane; for more photos and backgrounds of Nikki and Mary Jane, please visit It is linked on the right side as Betty's Cat Blog, I will update it when I take new photos of them.

Dyed Waiting

Betty says,

"I dye my yarn in my microwave oven for about 7 or 8 minutes. Afterwards, the water usually still contains a good amount of the color. I usually put the jars on the counter to let them cool down. Along the way, the color would be absolved by the yarn inside the jar. At the end, the water should be totally clear when the yarn is removed."

Heifer International's Global Village Exhibit

Heifer International's Learning Center at Overlook Farm in Rutland, MA paid homage to autumn celebrations around the world during their annual Harvest Festival on Saturday and Sunday, October 2 & 3. Chris O shares the photos that she took when she visited the exhibits of a Mongolia village. The soles and the red dress seems to be used in wedding ceremonies as the soles have the word "double celebration" woven into the pattern; this word is usually used in wedding celebrations only.
