It's A Baby, It's An Infant, It's A Dog!

Two young ladies are carrying a bundle of blanket going in and out of the show room. It certainly looks like a bundle of joy except that the "joy" has a black tail wagging outside the blanket!

"What is it?" Betty asked. The young ladies said, "Dogs are not allowed in the showroom, so we put our dog in the blanket. They'll think we are carrying a baby."

Now their secret is revealed; it's not a baby, it's not an infant, it's a Shih Tzu!

Jeff Comes To Judge

The Big Valley RA shows are one of the best shows in the area. The club invites judges from different areas to judge. One of the frequent and popular judges is Jeff J. from WA. He judges at the BVRA shows at least once a year.

Jeff has been a judge for a long time. The first time Betty's rabbits got judged by Jeff was in 1986 WA State Convention. Jeff and Don M. judged English Angora together; there were over a hundred English Angora in the show. It has been a long time since; Jeff is still judging and Betty is still showing; unfortunately Don M. passed away in summer 2003.

This year, Jeff judged the French Lops at the BVRA show A. Tami won the Best of Breed with a massive solid senior doe. Here are pictures of Jeff and a very happy Tami.

Baby Thunder is Now a Big Show Dog

Baby Thunder made his debut on our blog in September 2006 shown in the bottom photo. He was a cute little puppy with big show hope.

His entrance into the show world is like a thunder from the sky. At six months old, he went to his first show last weekend. The result is, with drum roll, the Best In Show!!!

The top photo was taken when he won the Best of Breed. From left to right are the judge, the handler and mama Judy P.

The second photo was taken after winning the Best In Show.

Congratulations to Baby Thunder and his mama Judy P.

Three Generations of Rabbit Lovers

Dave and Trina are the top English Lop breeders. Their daughter Dara is a tough competitor with mom and dad. In many conventions, they are competing for the top position of Best of Breed and Best Opposite Sex on the national level and they usually share the spotlight. At Fort Worth last October, Dave and Trina won Group with their English Lop.

Now the third generation of English Lop lovers are joining the wonderful world of rabbit shows. Dara has twin boys recently; Dave and Trina are the proud grand parents for the first time and the second time, only a few minutes apart.

Congratulations!!!

Allen and Cali

Allen is the top registrar in the nation; he writes a column for the Domestic Rabbits. He is a familiar face not only in the CA show circuit, he is well known all over the country.

His dog Cali is his constant companion. Cali accompanied Allen during the long driving trip from CA to CT and back. It is not unusual to see Cali with Allen at his KW equipment booth.

The top photo is Allen and Cali in front of his truck. The second photo shows Allen, Cali and the truck-trailer that hauls all the KW supplies to and from the shows.
