BVRA show A line up: judge Allen Mesick has completed the three breeds before the Angoras by 9:30 am, it's our turn.

White Angoras are usually judged before colored, why?  When the breed first started in 1930s, only white was recognized.

On the table is the third place white English Angora senior doe.

The second place English Angora white senior doe.

Here is the first place white senior doe and also the BOV.

PaSRBA Convention 2022

PaSRBA Convention is the PA state convention that was held on Saturday and Sunday, February 5-6, 2022.

Even with the huge snow blizzard, the PA state convention is still a major event with many exhibitors and judges.  Here is a photo of all the judges, I counted 19.  You may recognize there are two from CA: Melissa Magee and Misty Polasik.

Matt and Ashley's Giant Angora is one of the open Group winner.  Group winner means that the Giant Angora was one of the 4 finalist for the Best In Show honor.

Morgan Oesterling who won youth Best In Show at the Louisville ARBA convention won youth Best In Show again at the Pa state convention.

A crew is filming Eric and Morgan grooming their French Angora.   It's a National Geo program.  Matt will elaborate, read the description next.   A little bird told me that this crew will be at WCC filming too, stay tuned.

Matt Bishop reports:

"What a wonderful weekend for wool and the rabbit industry at the 2022 PaSRBA Convention! This year at the convention there was a film crew for National Geographic Gone Wild filming a new segment called Going Fur Gold. They spent the weekend highlighting two French Angora breeders, Eric Stewart and Morgan Oesterling, and Mini Rex breeder Berlena Reynolds. The film crew highlighted the preparation that breeders go to in order to get their rabbits ready for a show as well as in depth interviews with the breeders. Eric’s Colored French Angora Senior Doe, HGF Pretty Girl went to win BOB both on Saturday and Sunday in the All-Breed Show. Morgan’s White French Angora Junior Doe, Oesterling’s Jane Margolis went on to win BOB both Saturday and Sunday and BIS on Saturday in the youth show! Matt and Ashley Bishop won BOB Giant Angora with Bishop/Shaw's Versace and Sunday with Bishop/Shaw's Eggnog and Eggnog went on to win Best of Group 4 on Sunday.   A fantastic weekend and great 2022 PaSRBA Convention."

Big Valley RA Show Scenes at Merced

Big Valley RA holds their spring show at the Merced County Fairgrounds on Saturday, February 5, 2022.  The open barn has good airflows that is important during the double virus time.

Our wool corner with lots of Angoras.

Us wool exhibitors always like to set up a bit farther away from the rest so that we could use our blowers without having to worry about bothering others or getting dirty looks.

Another view of the Angoras.

It's quite a impressive scene when most of the Angoras are lining up on the judging table.

The carriers are put on rollers to be transported to and from the judging tables.  The nice smooth barn floor is great for the rollers.

In between shows, Betty got some new yarns spun and dyed.  Here are some variegated purple.

These three skeins are more "creative".  The very top is orange with colored ply thread.   The middle is orange with colored ply thread and mixed in with blue.  The bottom is bluish green and neon green.
