Preparing for Chinese New Year

Lots of red and gold merchandise in the grocery store, must be the New Year goodies.

The goodies are so appealing.

The store is decorated with New Year lanterns.

It'll be the Year of Horse, the number "8" is considered as a lucky number as it rhythms with the Cantonese pronunciation of "prosperity".

A new, 29.5-foot sculpture of Nelson Mandela is billed as the biggest statue of the South African leader. It also has a tiny, barely visible quirk: a sculpted rabbit tucked inside one of the bronze ears.

Carolyn's Red Angora Scarf

Carolyn has a pet English Angora from Casey, she loves the rabbit dearly, she lives indoors in her home.  Lucky bunny!

Carolyn loves to knit.   When she saw Betty's fat lumpy yarn, she is so intrigued that she bought a skein.

Carolyn used #15 needles to knit one and purl one.  It turned out nice, very thick and very warm.

Josh and Don in Lucky Hats

Betty's Angora hats are getting very popular.   Judges Josh and Don are trying them on and decided to purchase.   Don at the end chose one in white and beige instead of beige and pink, Josh likes them so much that he bought one for himself and another one for his friend.
