Though this is Melody's first time as a table writer, she is doing a great job.   Judge Kendal indicated that he started at 13 and learned a lot by being a table writer when he was a youth.

First Lilac Havana Appearance in a Show at Hollister

 

 

 

At the ARBA convention in Del Mar, the Lilac Havana (second row) passed the second showing.  Due to the excellent quality of the rabbits presented, the third showing was waived and Lilac Havana became an accepted color into the Standard of Perfection.   As soon as this information is published in Domestic Rabbits, the lilac Havana would be eligible to compete with other accepted colors for legs and eligible for grand championship in the following month.

 

Domestic Rabbits published this result in November, the Lilac Havana became eligible for showing in the first show in December, which is the RPSCV show at Hollister.     Judge Armando is commenting on this broken lilac Havana and it won the class.   Interestingly enough, the superintendent of the RPSCV show is Julie Spier, the COD presenter of the lilac Havana.   And she is in the background taking a picture of this historical moment.

Rabbit Producers of Santa Clara Valley holds triple all breed shows at Hollister on Saturday, December 3, 2016.

In show B, judge Allen selects Kelly's Tan as the Best In Show.

 

Show C judge Doug has the same pick as judge Allen in show B, Kelly's Tan gets the Best In Show honor again.

Usually a full day of judging duty involves 200-250 rabbits.   It's a triple show day, and with 12 judging stations, the count shows that there are 800-1000 rabbits physically in the showroom.




 

Uptown Girl Wins All Breed Reserve In Show

 

 

 

HGF Uptown Girl gave birth and raised her first litter of 5.    She returns to shows when her babies were 4 months old.   Her coat gets more flowey, the color is strikingly bright.



 

At 5 months 10 days after giving birth, Uptown Girl wins all breed Reserve In Show at the Rabbit Producers of Santa Clara Valley show C.   Judge Doug King awards the honor. 

Uptown Girl has started winning BOB over a month ago, this RIS is the first top honor after her maternity leave.  She has won 3 all breed Best In Show earlier in the spring.
