National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club French Angora Competition

Lipton BCG8U wins the first place French Angora "Rabbit of the Year".

Lipton won the 3rd place last year,  he made it to the first place this year at over 3 years old.

Lipton's first place French Angora Rabbit of the Year prize.

This is the NARBC French Angora breeders' sweepstakes ranking.  I am at number 6.   My entire herd of French Angora consists of 7 rabbits.  I show 1 or 2 French Angora in each show, it's a miracle that I could even made it to top ten.

This is the 6th place prize French Angora competition.

In three years of the Rabbit of the Year competition, my 3 French Angoras won the first place in all 3 years, Gifta BCG1FT the first year, Indigo Girl BCG2G the second year and Lipton BCG8U the current year.   See:

National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club English Angora Competition

The NARBC English Angora Rabbit of the Year ranking.

Joanna BC1ES wins the 2020-2021 English Angora "Rabbit of the Year" top prize.   Only the BOB and BOS winnings are counted in determining the Rabbit of the Year award.

This is Joanna's first place prize.

Susanna BC2ES is the 3rd place winner of the English Angora "Rabbit of the Year".   She actually won over her sister Joanna in many shows but some of her winnings were counted in the previous year, her points were split into two sweepstakes period, thus did not get the first place in either year.

This is Susanna's 3rd place prize.

Each breeder also gets points calculated to determine the national standing.  I am very fortunate that I made it to the first place again this year even with so many show cancellations.     My national sweepstakes standing has been at the first place since 1988, 33 years in a row.

This is the prize for me as the first-place show competitor.

The sweepstakes for the show competitor was there when I started showing, I don't know when it started.  I got to 9th place in 1985, I was so excited.  The following year I made it to 4th place in 1986, then to the 2nd place in 1987, then holding on to the first place standing from 1988 and after.

The Rabbit of the Year competition started three years ago.   My hardworking does won the first place English Angora Rabbit of the Year in all three years, Annisha BC5AQ won the first year, Fawndella BCG7FT won the second year and Joanna BC1ES the current year.  See:

Dyeing Angora Yarns

It's cold and wet, not much can be done outdoors.   It's a good time to spin and dye.   Here is a pot of Angora yarn being dyed on stove pot.   I used Easter egg dye tablets, blue mixed with red to get purple.

The resulting purple Angora nubby yarn.

Using more Easter egg dye tablets and other food dyes, I got a skein of orange, a skein of orange with green, and a skein of blue and green.

Another purple skein with a skein of red and a skein of green with purple.

The skeins of red and green have a feel of Christmas, a photo with the Christmas bouquet is warranted.

Everybody Loves Persimmon

Sevenelle loves persimmons.

Alba wishes all matters go well by arranging "four persimmons".
What? Four persimmons?
On top of Alba there are 8 Chinese words.  The first line translates to: "Four Persimmons as Wished", the second line says, "All Matters as Wished".     In Chinese pronunciation, "Four Persimmons" and "All Matters" sound the same.   Thus "four persimmons" are a symbol for "all matters", essentially it means  “All wishes come true”.   Alba is wishing everyone's wish comes true.
