Big Times Violet Wins Specialty Best In Show at Ohio Mini Convention

Violet is a beautiful black doe that has a background in California and Ohio.   Her great grand father moved from CA to OH, then her grand father moved from OH to CA, then her mother moved from CA to OH, Violet was born in OH.   Her human mama Maureen does not go to shows often, but the last time Violet was taken to a show in March, she won all breed Best In Show.

When WCC was held at Reno in the west, in OH, the biggest show in the middle America was held at the same time.    Angora are getting more and more popular: at WCC there were over 60 Angoras in the specialty show while at the OH Mini Convention, there were over 70 Angoras shown.    Big Times Violet is the specialty Best In Show winner.   Picture here are Violet's human mama Maureen and judge Stacey.

WCC Event at Reno is now a memory.  This is the last time that the event is held at the Grand Sierra Resort Casino.   In the next two years, this event will be held at Las Vegas in April 2015 and 2016.   There is also a strong possibility that the ARBA convention is to be held at Las Vegas in 2016.

Goodbye Reno, Hello Las Vegas.

Betty and Friends at WCC

Betty is happy at her little corner with all the wool exhibitors.

Julie is a new exhibitor in the French Angora, Carol G. is new in the French Angora but an old hand in the American Fuzzy Lop and the Jersey Wooly.

Carolyn at the right keeps an English Angora and a French Angora as indoor pets but she likes to visit the rabbit shows.   Betty and Casey are holding their junior English Angora buck and does.

Ruby is young but very good at showing her rabbits.

Judge Scott R and Betty go back a long way, they competed with each other in the 1980s when Scott was still a youth.   Though Scott is now a top breeder in Holland Lop, he likes to visit his old friend and old breed.

Our visitor from Idaho having fun at Reno.
