Romance On The Green

Carrie is a beautiful young lady, she is ready to go on a date.

Ashton is a fully coated handsome gentleman.

Ashton and Carrie take off their coats for their first date.

Let's have fun, it does not matter whether it's the right end or the wrong end.

Ah, now we got it right.

We are having fun.

Mission accomplished, let's hang out.

For those who have not kept Angora, it's a mystery how the Angora, especially English Angora, do their "thing". Their show coats are definitely a deterrent to their fun activities. Just like people getting into passion, our English Angora rabbits need to bare it all to have fun.

A Surprise Visit

Betty says,

"A few evenings ago, I was almost ready to go to bed, I received a surprise visit from Mr. Matsushima and Miss Takegata who had flown in from Japan.

They toured my rabbit barn and took pictures with Sevenah, the BOB winner at the convention.

It was a big surprise but it was fun to have met them."

Gerald Ford Presidential Museum, Exterior

Betty says,

"Grand Rapids is President Gerald Ford's hometown. When I heard that the ARBA convention would be held in Grand Rapids, I had planned to go visit the presidential museum.

From the hotel room that Chris and I stayed, the museum was the first sight that we would see out of our 8th floor window. The top photo was taken inside our hotel room. The bridge is for pedestrians only; it connects the convention center and the presidential museum.

On Wednesday October 17, after the broken Satin Angora presentation was done, there was a window of time that we could walk across the bridge to visit the museum.

The second photo is Chris outside the convention center before we walked across the bridge. I am posing in front of the museum in the third photo. The next four photos are the scenes at the exterior of the museum.

As these photos have shown, the grounds are kept very clean; landscape is meticulously maintained.

I will post photos of the interior of the museum tomorrow."

Chris and Betty

Betty says,

"Chris and I are best friends. We have a lot in common but we also have a lot more not in common. No matter whether we agree with each other or not, we seem to be able to read each other's mind and it's scary! The main reason for that, I believe, is that both of us believe in being rational.

Chris does not show much but if she shows she does well. In 2000 she brought one Giant Angora to Columbus convention and that single rabbit won the Best of Breed. In local shows, she would go with one rabbit may be the most once a year and won either Best In Show or Reserve In Show.

We have been roommates since the 1992 convention except in two years that she did not go to convention due to other commitments. We live in the two opposite sides of the country, convention is the only place that we are able to see each other. This is the part of conventions that I really look forward to."
