It’s the Citrus Fair at Cloverdale

Casey and Betty are enjoying a morning walk at the rabbit show venue.  What's in the background?  Look familiar? Fair junk food booths!  We are at the Cloverdale Citrus Fair.   Fairs nowadays usually only hold youth shows, it is very unusual to see a one-day carrying cage open show, so we got to try it.

It's a Citrus Fair, Casey wants to be with a giant lemon.

We see carnival rides....

We see goats, ...

We see horses....

We see overflowing rabbit people under the exterior patios....

More overflow from the rabbit showroom...

The indoor showroom is very crowded, Tessa is at the table accepting check-in.

It's people bumping into people!

Luckily for the wool group, we arrived early way before 7 am to find a spot in the showroom to avoid being put in the outdoor tents.  The carriers are stacked to save space.

Betty's English Angora are set up next to the wall, and Bri is working on her French Angora.

A view from the wool corner to the rest of the showroom.

While we enjoy taking a walk around the fair carnival rides and food booths in the morning, the weather in the afternoon becomes unpleasant.   Rain starts pouring down.

With all the sympathies to those who set up outside under the tent, we are very grateful to have a dry spot inside the building.   In addition to being uncomfortable, it would be absolutely dangerous for having blowers using electric outlets in the rain.

It was a great show, much more popular than the show sponsors expected.  The weather is a fun reducer, especially having to roll the rabbits and equipment to the parking lot in the pouring rain at the end of the day.   Mother nature has her own plans, no one can control weather.   While rabbits are covered with sheets, humans just accept the fun of being soaking wet!
