French Angora Girls

We are the solid girls.  We are really solid, very responsible, very outstanding, we are just as solid as we can be.

We are three broke girls, we are broke.   No, little dumb-dumbs, you are not broke, you are broken!   OK, we are the broken girls with pretty colors combined with white.

Solid or broken, we are family.

Collectible Rabbit Figurine in the Harmony Kingdom

There are clubs for everything, including figurines.    The Harmony Kingdom figurines are produced in UK by a group of artists, they give their creations names, birthdates and retirement dates.   Those who are interested in collecting their creations could join the club and receive new issues.

The above is a piece that is called "At the Hop", created and issued on 11/1/1995 and retired on 4/26/2002.   I have owned this piece since the mid to late 1990s, that makes it 20 some years old.

This item is considered as a "treasure jest" that has a heart shape opening that can be used to store small items.

Winter Time is Hat Time

Angora hats are wonderful for the cold and dump weather.     And knitting Angora hats is also a great activity during the holiday break.

These hats are available from Betty.    Contact her if you are interested, price is reasonable and they can be shipping via postal mail or to be picked up in the shows.

Beautiful Lady Gi Gi Yarn

Lady Gi Gi is a Grand Champion Chestnut French Angora doe.

Chestnut rabbits have ring pattern, Lady Gi Gi's ring is extremely beautiful.

Lady Gi Gi is very proud of her accomplishment of keeping her coat for a year and winning 16 legs of which 10 are BOB with her first coat.    A litter over a year old, she donates her coat for fiber use.

Lady Gi Gi's show coat is now a skein of 120 yards of yarn.

Lady Gi Gi's ring pattern is almost visible in the yarn.

Persimmons in Asian Art

Betty's home has a beautiful painting of persimmons, see
http://ncag.blogspot.com/2016/12/persimmons-hachiya-and-fuyu.html
Carolyn shares her four-fold wall hanging of persimmons plus persimmon flower arrangement.

Carolyn has another painting of persimmons in her home.

If you notice, the number of persimmons in the paintings are all in even numbers.   Betty's has 4 persimmons on the tree, Carolyn's two paintings have 8 and 2 persimmons respectively.

The Fuyu variety is the most popular ones at the current time for its non-astringent nature.   It can be consumed right from the tree without any waiting period.  In addition, the Chinese/Japanese name of Fuyu  is "富有",  the meaning of these two words directly translate to "rich abundance", most would consider that as a desirable situation.
