Old Friends at King City

Rosemary and Betty have known each other forever!   Rosemary and husband were 4H parents and also active club members of the Salinas Valley Rabbit Club in the 1980s.   This club put on the largest show in July in the 1980s at Watsonville.   Exhibitors from all over the state would attend this show.   It's hard to believe today, all the shows in the 1980s were single shows, and people drove hours and hours to attend.   If the club said 2000 entries, it meant 2000 rabbits physically in the showroom.   There was no double show, no specialty show; win or lose, one chance.

Paul is the show superintendent of the shows at King City.  Rosemary is his mom and he was the 4 H kid that Rosemary took to the shows in the 1980s.   Betty has known Paul since he was a little boy.

Aabel Wins Reserve In Show at King City

Aabel has a tremendous body and coat inherited from his multi BIS winner mother Annisha.  Normally does would go over bucks in winning the Best of Breed in shows but Aabel has made exceptions time after time.

At the Central Coast Rabbit Club show in King City on November 21, Aabel wins BOB in both shows then advances to Reserve in Show in show A.   Judge Adam Schuller from Idaho awards the prize.

In show B, Aabel receives the Second Reserve In Show award from judge Rusty Westoff of Tennessee.

Central Coast Rabbit Club Show at King City

CCRC holds annual show at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds on Saturday, November21, 2020.  The Topo Ranch Event Center is the biggest building on the ground.

It's spacious to say the least.

The show occupies only a half of the event center but it's so huge that social distancing is definitely viable.

There are 8 judges for the shows.   Left to right are ARBA VP Rusty Westhoff , Kate Smith, Lauralee Erbe, Misty Polasik, Randy Shumaker, Armando Cabrera, Kendal Bledsoe and Adam Schuller.
