The famous Surf Dog Ricochet.

Ricochet performs her SURFice of charity fundraising.

San Diego based Surf dog Ricochet, the SURFice dog who raised over $70,000 for charity in the last 15 months, has been challenged to raise more money than TV reality stars in a breast cancer fundraiser called "Reality Rally"

Reality Rally is a three-day weekend event in Temecula, California, April 15-17 intended to raise funds for Michelle's Place, a non profit 501(c)3 resource center in Murrieta where women can go for help in coping with the challenges of breast cancer. Michelle's Place was started 10 years ago to fulfill a 26 year old daughters dying wish... to provide a haven and support center for those battling breast cancer.

Ricochet participated in the fundraising contest, challenges the 110 participating reality TV stars from 36 different Reality Shows including Survivor, The Amazing Race, and Big Brother to raise more money than a dog!! A challenge Ricochet was very excited to take on while helping women with breast cancer.

Drying Yarns During Winter

Winter is the best season for spinners but winter is not the best time for the skeins of yarn to hang-dry outdoors. Yarn could smell like a wet dog if the yarn is not thoroughly dried or it takes too much time to dry. There is a very good solution to this issue: put a shelf on top of a heater vent then place the yarns on the shelf. After less than a day, the yarn usually will be dried thoroughly.

Pink And Pink-Variegated Yarns

This is a skein of Angora yarn dyed pink with Easter egg dye, very pretty but a little boring.

After pink is dyed into the yarn, add some green and go through the heating process again.

Now we have a skein of pink and green variegated yarn.

Instead of adding green, adding blue to the pink yarn resulted in variegated pink and purple.

Here is a side-by-side comparison of the pink and the two pink-variegated yarns

Fawnella Gets A Hair Cut

At 14 months old, Pretty Fawnella is about to have her first hair cut.

Her wool is parted at the back not too far from her ears.

That first cut is soooooooo hard!

Now it is reaching the point of no return, her wool is being cut.

Doesn't Fawnella look like a pineapple?

A closer up of the pineapple cut.

Fawnella's wool drapes down like a waterfall.

There is really not much left after the wool is removed, Fawnella is very small.

Now Fawnella's wool is in the plastic bag ready for sale or for spinning.

Rodents At War

Are the rats at war or the two cavies also fighting?

Jennie is a rabbit breeder, not a cavy or rat breeder. She loves this t-shirt so much, however, that she wore it to rabbit shows two weekends in a row.
