Colorful Scrunchies

They look delicious, what are these?  These are Angora scrunchies for ponytails.

Betty uses funfur yarn to crochet around the elastic scrunchie; here are a bunch of the scrunchie "hearts" without the Angora edge.    Betty then crochets the edge of these "hearts" with handspun Angora yarn to finish the Angora scrunchies.    They are not too hard to make but it's an interesting exercise of color coordination.

Bunnies' Photo Op

I'm shy, I don't want to be in front of the camera.

I'm turning my back to the camera.

We are BFF.

Let me show my tongue to the camera.

My ears, you are so heavy that my ears hurt.

Big Girl Checker

French Angora BCW Checker is only 4 months old but she looks and weighs as if she is much older.

Checker has a beautiful Chestnut Agouti ring definition.

Checker likes to exercise on the lawn.

She turns and sprints like a leopard.

Ebby Gets a Hair Cut

Ebby was "touched" by the participants of the judges conference on Friday night at the California State Convention, then he went on the table to be judged on Saturday and Sunday.

After show D, Betty sits down to harvest Ebby's wool.

Betty says, "I use a pair of scissors to cut his wool off,  just like people going to the beauty saloon to get a hair cut.   It's very easy, no pain no hassle.   In two to three months, Ebby will be ready to come back to shows."

"What are you doing, Betty?" "I am cutting Ebby's wool to make yarn."

"You are taking the wool off your rabbit?"   "Yes, you are very smart".

Betty spins Ebby's wool into a skein of yarn.

A few days later, the Ebby's yarn becomes Ebby's Scarf.

Angora rabbits are calm, loving, easy to handle.  They are wonderful show animals and pets.  Their wool is beautiful and luxurious, it takes 2-3 months of wool growth to make a beautiful scarf.

Makayla's Wonderful Sunday

On Sunday morning, Makayla is excited, "Betty, Betty, say what I got?  I am babysitting a little piglet."

Sleepy little piglet is the runt of the litter that gets a pet's life.

In the afternoon, Makalya says, "Betty, Big Hunk got specialty Best In Show.  I love my lucky hat!"

Things get even better, Makayla's Mini Lop Big Hunk gets selected as youth all breed Best In Show in show D by judge Don from VA.

Makayla has a wonderful Sunday at the California State Convention.
