Mr. Stewart Goes To Washington

Eric and Karen at the Department of Agriculture.

Eric and Karen at Washington DC.

For those of us who keep up with what's going on at the ARBA headquarter, you probably have read the announcement on the website:

"ARBA Reps Meet with Officials in Washington D.C.

ARBA Legislative Committee Chair, Karen Horn and ARBA Executive Director Eric Stewart recently traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with key representatives of the USDA and House of Representatives and Senate Agriculture Committees."

Our very able executive director Eric personally sent us two photos of him and Karen in Washington and says,

"I left on Wednesday for DC and didn’t get back until Friday night, then had a agriculture symposium on Saturday then judging on Sunday. Great news though, the meetings in DC could not have gone better. I’m hoping that the relationships we’re developing will help prevent the animal rights agendas from getting a stronger foothold.  I also have 23 visitors from China coming at the end of the month for a seminar I’m doing."

The Legislative Committee report from this Washington trip is posted on the ARBA website:

Making Daisy Yarn with Angora Wool

Angora wool can be used in a lot of crafts.   Most of us spin it, some felt it and Natalie of Namaste Farms makes Daisy with it.    These white Daisies are made of white Angora wool with the center being the dyed mohair.  Then the Daisies are spun into the yarn.

Sounds interesting?   Natalie has an instruction video on how to make the Daisy yarn:

There are additional 30 instructional videos ranging from shearing an alpaca to washing mohair to making feather yarn such as the following one:

These videos are very useful and very entertaining.

    Enjoy and learn.
