Leslie and Allison Visit Casey

Remember Leslie Tucker? She has judged our Angoras many times in the past and did a great job. Leslie has retired from judging a few years ago. Here are some of our previous posts:
Northern California Angora Guild (ncag.blogspot.com)

Leslie's daughter Allison used to show rabbits but now she is focused on being a mom to daughter Lyrah and son Orion.

Leslie, Allison with Lyrah and Orion visit Casey's home, Isaura is playing host.

Once a judge always a judge, Leslie is checking on Casey's Satin Angora.

Leslie shows her granddaughter Lyrah what a good English Angora looks like.

Casey has a broken English Angora!   He is from Debbie.

Kids can't resist baby bunnies.

Carol Visits Lake Placid, New York

Lake Placid, New York is a village near the lake of the same name, in New York State’s Adirondack Mountains. It's known as a Winter Olympics venue and a hub for snow sports and other outdoor pursuits.   Last weekend it is the location for the Ironman competition.

Carol's son Dr. Adam Green is a participant of the Ironman competition.  Carol flew to PA then to Lake Placid to be a spectator and volunteer.

The Green family stayed in this beautiful inn.

Another shot of the exterior of the inn.

Outside of their room.

Pippin Starts New Life in PA

Carol brings a Fuzzy Lop with her when flying to PA.

Fuzzy boy is going to be an indoor pet in PA.

Look at the set up for the Fuzzy boy!

He gets a new name: Pippin.

He has lots of toys and a little house and a litterbox.  He uses the litterbox immediately.

The very next day, Pippin gets a bigger house.   Pippin definitely approves this accommodation.

Pippin's new mom carries him like a baby.

Remember When: 1990 ARBA Convention at Tampa, FL

The 1990 ARBA convention was held at Tampa, Florida.   The English Angora BOB was my blue tort doe Chu's Crystal Cream.

It was a pleasant surprise that Crystal Cream won the big prize because she was 3-1/2 year old at the time, and this was her third time going to the ARBA convention.  The first time was 1987 at Portland, OR, the second time 1988 at Madison, WI.  She skipped 1989 convention at Tulsa, OK, and finally won the BOB at Tampa, FL in 1990.

Crystal Cream was 5 months old when she went to the 1987 ARBA convention at Portland, Oregan.  It was also my first ARBA convention.  Crystal Cream won the colored junior doe class then went on to win over the colored senior doe (also mine) to get BOSV.   The BOV was my black buck Chu's Cosby.

This is a polaroid picture of me grooming at the Tampa convention, don't recall who took this picture.

Some may recall seeing me wearing this vest in some of the shows.  I handspun the tort Angora yarn, the blue wool yarn was purchased.   This basket weave pattern was really hot around that time, it took me quite an effort to learn to knit it and wore the vest at the 1990 convention.

What were the prizes at this convention?  I could not find them.  I recall there were several baskets of dry flowers that were impossible to be packed into my suitcase for flying.   I recall hand carrying the baskets and the dry flowers falling off in a trail at the airport and aboard the plane; it wasn't a good scene.

Debbie’s Beautiful English Angora Bunnies

We posted on July 7, 2022 that Debbie's bit winner doe Clarice is a great mom:
Northern California Angora Guild: Clarice is a Great Mom (ncag.blogspot.com)

Five in the litter made it to near weaning.

There are one black, one chocolate, one opal and two lynx.

The two lynx are a buck and a doe.

Another photo of the two lynx.

The black in the middle is a buck and the other two does.

Clarice has a great litter with variety of colors, two bucks and three does; Debbie will have nice juniors to go to shows very soon.
