NARBC President's Award





It's a great honor to have received the NARBC President's Award at the ARBA convention.   NARBC president Lynn Galbraith-Wilson posted:


"Congratulations to Eric Stewart and Betty Chu for receiving the President’s Award at the 2019 NARBC Banquet in Reno. NARBC Sweepstakes Awards 2018-2019






In the national sweepstakes competition, Betty has been maintaining the English Angora first place standing since 1988, 31 years in a row.   Here is a grooming mat listing the placing in the sweepstakes competition,  



As the first place winner, there is a lovely grooming apron with the embroidered image of an Angora rabbit and Betty's name.   



Owning a total of 7 French Angoras, Betty is feeling fortunate to have the 3rd place standing in the French Angora sweepstakes.

NARBC Rabbit of The Year Awards 2018-2019






National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club has a new competition: Rabbit of the Year.



At the ARBA convention in Reno, National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club gave out the "Rabbit of the Year" award.  There are four Angora breeds so there are four winners of the award.  In English Angora, Betty's tort doe BC5AQ is the winner.  



Here is BC5AQ: Chu's Annisha.  She cumulated 974 points, four times of the second place winner.   In addition she has 7 all breed Best In Show, 6 all breed Reserve In Show and 2 specialty Best In Show; none of these additional wins are counted in the points.




In French Angora, Betty's chocolate agouti doe BCG1FT wins the "Rabbit of the Year".   


Here is BCG1FT: BCG's Gifta.   Gifta cumulated 338 points to win French Angora Rabbit of the Year.   These points were cumulated in 3 months during September 2018 to December 2018 where she won 15 BOB.   Her career total is 40 BOB, 4 all breed Best In Show, 3 all breed Reserve In Show plus many specialty BIS and RIS between 2017 and 2018.   At the end of December 2018, she met her boyfriend and in January 2019 she became a mother.   Her daughter Indigo Girl has since won 3 all breed Best In Show and 2 all breed Reserve In Show in August and September 2019.

Best In Show Judging at Gridley





Show A Best In Show judge is Daniel from CO.

Judge Kate's choice of the Best In Show is the same Mini Satin and the Reserve In Show goes to a Netherland Dwarf.

Show C Angora Judging at Gridley




Show C starts with French Angora.   Four colored senior does are waiting for their judge.

The judge's choice for Best of Breed French Angora is the chocolate senior doe.

He likes what he sees.



That's the English Angora BOSB winner.

Show B Angora Judging at Gridley




Show B follows show A judging almost immediately.  Our judge is Daniel Barrett from CO and he has a judge's assist Lindsey Vaught.



On the table are the French Angora colored senior bucks.  Carolyn watches.  


Lindsey checks the body type.


 
Who is bigger? Lindsey or the French Angora colored senior doe?



The blue senior doe is eventually chosen as the BOB winner.


Judge Daniel and Lindsey compares the colored senior buck and white senior buck for BOSB, and the white buck takes the title. 



After going through all the English Angora, judge Daniel and Lindsey are impressed with the fawn senior doe.



They examine every aspect of the English Angora fawn senior doe...



… and declared it the BOB winner.    Judge Daniel and Lindsey later judged the show A Best In Show and selected this doe as the Reserve In Show winner.

Show A Angora Judging at Gridley





First show in the morning starts with French Angora.  On the table is a white senior buck.  Our judge is Tracy Gouette.


We also have judge's assist Alan Raftery who is working on his judge's license.
