Sunday Show C Angora Judging at Turlock

 
 
 
On Sunday March 5, 2017, judge Piper Smith from PA starts with the white English Angora.  Matt is the table writer.

It's quite an impressive sight to see that many nice French Angora on the table at the same time.

Open Top Winners at Turlock on Sunday

 
 
 
 
On Sunday at Turlock, the top winners were selected the "regular" way.   All the BOB winners were cooped and the top two winners were announced.
 
 
Show C Best In Show judge is David Cardinal,  he awards the Best In Show to Roger's Mini Satin
 


Show C Reserve In Show goes to the Florida White shown by brothers John and Paul.


 
Judge Cheryl Blackman from Texas is the show D judge to pick the top winners.  The Best In Show goes to the Netherland Dwarf shown by Jeanette and her twin sons.


 

Alan's Havana is the Reserve In Show winner in show D.

Open Top Winners at Turlock on Saturday




On Saturday, March 4, 2017 the California State Convention used the Group method to select the top winners.  The winners of the Groups are:

Group 1 - Commercial Breeds: American Sable, Argente Bruin, Californian, Champagne, Cinnamon, Flemish Giant, Florida, Havana, New Zealand, Palomino, Silver Marten, Standard Chin  - Winner Californian

Group 2 - Fur & Wool Breeds: Fuzzy Lop, All Angoras, J. Woolies, Lionhead, Mini Rex, Rex, Satin, Mini Satin - Winner English Angora
 
 
Group 3 - Marked Breeds: Checkered Giant, Dutch, Dwarf Hotot, English Spot, Harliquin, Himi, Tan - Winner English Spot
 
Group 4 - Lops & Small Unmarked Breeds: Petite, Dwarf, Polish, Thrianta, Holland, Lop Mini Lop, French Lop, English Lop - Winner Netherland Dwarf

Dora Wins Group in Shows A and B on Saturday

 
 
 
On Saturday, March 4, 2017, the California State Convention used an unusual arrangement in selecting the top winners.   Rabbits were put in 5 groups by their special characters. Here is the listing in the show catalog:

Saturday Show B Angora Judging at Turlock

 
 
 
In show B, the judge for Angora is Jennifer Milburn, mother of Ashley who judged show A.   Judge Jennifer is examining a white English Angora, Matt is the table writer.
 

Now judge Jennifer is checking on a colored English Angora.
 


Another colored English Angora is being examined.
There are 17 English Angora in the breed.


 

There are 24 French Angora entered in the show, the table is fully cooped.
 

Judge Jennifer is examining a fawn French Angora.
 


A broken chestnut French Angora is being evaluated.
 
On the table are two chestnut French Angora.  The one in the front is a senior buck and the darker on in the back is the senior doe, they are competing for the Best of Breed.   The BOB winner is the buck thus the doe is the BOSB.

 

The Satin Angora always have more intense color than any of the other wool breeds.

Saturday Show A Angora Judging at Turlock

First Morning of the California State Convention at Turlock

 
 
California State Rabbit and Cavy Association holds the annual convention at Turlock, CA on March 4 to March 5, 2017.
 
 
 
Very early in the morning, before most people arrive and way before judging starts, the dedicated wool breed exhibitors are busy setting up to groom rabbits.   In the picture are Matt grooming his English Angora, Jill working on her French Angora, Cindy brushes her Jersey Wooly and Renee sets up her grooming table.  Behind Renee is a white English Angora that Betty plans on grooming.

 


On the other side of the wool, Heather drove all the way from the northern Oregon, working on her French Angora and Carol W. is also working on her French Angora.   There are more setting up at the grooming area as time goes by.
 

Ashley Garza is the show A judge for three Angora breeds.  
 

Show B Angora judge is Jennifer Milburn who is Ashley's mother.
 

Matt is between the mother-daughter judging team.
