More Fun Photos at Portola Valley

Carol's main breed is the American Fuzzy Lop.  Here are her winners with Nate, judged by Chris Zemny.

Carolyn Sawai drives all the way from Davis to visit.  Many of the nice photos that posted on our blog came from her.

There was no coordination, would you believe that Betty and Bri both are wearing t-shirts with cats and Ramen noodles!  Yes, this is the "proper" way of eating Ramen noodles, put in a mouth full then use teeth to cut the noodles off.   It not rude, it's the RIGHT way!

Early in the morning, a bit foggy, Betty arrives and Nate comes to get a selfie together.

Grooming Scenes at Portola Valley

One of the fun things about showing Angoras is grooming.  Or should we say it's also the hard part of showing Angoras.    Exhibitors get the chance to exchange grooming and other ideas when all work hard to get the competition going.   At the Portola Valley show, Angoras carriers and grooming equipment are spread out.  In the background Pattee and Bri are grooming their buns.

In the same general area, Betty is grooming her English Angora.

Isaura is grooming her Satin Angora.

Bri holds on to her French Angora.

Another photo of Betty blow-grooming her English Angora Mauras.

Casey and her handsome Satin Angora buck.

Carol is working on the underside of her French Angora.

Carolyn and Betty watch Carol grooming the underside of her French Angora.  In the background is Carol's wonderful hubby Jim.

Underside done, now Carol is working on the top of her French Angora.

Carol says, Good girl Viviana, your grooming is done.

Pattee grooms her French Angora doe Patience.

Show C French Angora Judging at Portola Valley

Judge Allen checks on the white French Angora.  On the table are pointed white juniors, Carolyn Silvas watches carefully as these pointed white are her babies.

Judge Allen works on the colored French Angora.   Bri clerks, Pattee watches.

On the table are some of the colored French Angora does.

Pattee and Bri are both fairly new into French Angora, Pattee a bit over 3 years, Bri 6 months.  Watching judging is the best way to learn.

Judge Allen measures the loin on the French Angora doe.

Judge Allen compares the colored senior does and the first place ...

... goes to the fawn doe, she also goes on to win BOB and specialty Best In Show.

Mama Betty is very happy with Monique's performance! Interestingly enough, judge Allen has awarded the specialty Best In Show to Monique two years ago in the same show, see:

Monique was 1-1/2 years old in June 2021, now 3-1/2 years old now, she sure knows how to stay pretty.

Charlie Visits at Portola Valley

Charlie is visiting!  Charlie is our NCAG president, always supportive of what's going on.  Though he's no longer showing, he is still one of us.

Charlie and Isaura.  Charlie tells Isaura all about her dad Cole's younger years in shows with Casey.  It's hard to imagine that Isaura is older than Cole was when he came to shows regularly.

Charlie watches the rabbits.  Can we get him back to the shows?

It's like old days with Charlie watching the judging; however with Isaura, we know time has passed many moons.
