Zeeva is Still Pretty ... in Pink Doggie Wrap

Zeeva is totally naked under this pink doggie wrap; it keeps her warm during the night.   Though it's not cold by any means, it's still a shock going from wearing a show coat of 12-inch-long wool to zero-inch in a flash.

Another view of Zeeva in the pink doggie wrap.

The doggie wrap with the trademark name of "Snuggie" has a very strange pattern.   It took a little figuring out to learn how to put it on the rabbit.  The top part is for the neck area, the part with the elastic is for the tummy and the Velcro strips are for the back.

Another view of the "Snuggie".

Betty says,

I normally knit little sweaters from my bulky Angora yarn for my rabbits when they get hair cuts, see

http://ncag.blogspot.com/2005/12/how-much-is-that-doggie-in-carrier.html

A couple of months ago, my local CVS store was moving from an older shopping center to their newly constructed facility across the street and having a moving sale.   I bought several of this strange looking doggie wrap named "Snuggie For Dogs" not knowing whether it would fit my rabbits or not.  Surprisingly it fits my rabbits perfectly especially that the Velcro strips are adjustable to the depth and width of the rabbit's body.    The best part so far is that none of the five rabbits that have used this wrap had chewed on it but I can't say the same for the Angora sweaters that I knitted for them.  Most of the sweaters got destroyed within a week.

Zeeva Gets a Hair Cut

Zeeva sitting on the grooming table, still as beautiful as ever but a top show career has to come to an end  in order to begin her next stage of life.   Zeeva is going to take a rest for a few weeks to prepare to start her family and pass on her superior genes.

That first cut is sooooooo hard, it's a cut of no return.

Zeeva's fleece is like a beautiful waterfall.

Where is Zeeva?  Is she the one on the grooming table or the one in the grooming box?

The bag of Zeeva's fleece is set next to her.

Zeeva's fleece is in this extra large zip bag.

Delani at Large

It was on June 30 at Carol G.'s backyard show that the baby shower was held in honor of Timmy and Danielle for their baby girl Delani.

Now Delani is 3-1/2 months old and this is her second rabbit show; her first rabbit show was at Crescent City the week prior to this Stockton show.    Grandma Melodye is holding a sleepy Delani.

Mom Danielle holds an animated Delani.

Daddy Timmy is holding daddy's girl Delani.

At 3-1/2 weeks old Delani's feet are still a little small for the pink Angora booties.

Newly elected ARBA Vice President Randy is enjoying the cuddly little Delani.

Ashley and Delani, a big princess and a little princess.

Big Valley RA has special gifts made for the Best In Show and Reserve In Show winners.  The winners take the rabbit to the photo booth to get the picture into a clock, a shirt, a towel, a dry erase board, ....  Allen is posing Titanium for the photo shoot.

Posing is very important for the Netherland Dwarf breed.

Allen takes a photo with his iPhone to see whether that's a good pose.

Titanium Wins Double Best In Show at Stockton

Big Valley RA holds its major fall show at Stockton; there are 35 breeds and close to 2000 rabbits in the show barn.  With double open, double youth and specialty shows, there were over 4000 entries.

Titanium is a Netherland Dwarf otter buck that is shown by Randy and Allen.  They have been involved in a lot of activities including Randy's successful campaign for ARBA vice president.  They have not been showing for a while and this is one of the rare occasions that they show.   Titanium does not disappoint, he wins Best In Show in both shows.

In show A, Judge Doug picks Randy(not in the picture) and Allen's Netherland Dwarf the Best In Show.

Juan's English Lop gets Reserve In Show from Judge Doug.

In show B, judge Justin picks the same Netherland Dwarf the Best In Show and the Reserve In Show goes to the Polish shown by Kathi the Polish Princess.
