Is It Cold Enough Yet?

The weather report in CA repeatedly warns that January 11 and 12 will be the coldest day this winter.   How cold will it be? It will be 50s during the day and low 30s/high 20s during the night.   The main freeway between Northern CA and Southern CA is closed due to snow around the area called Grapevine.

Is this a picture of the cold weather in CA?   Not quite, it is not likely that CA would get this kind of snow.

Where is this place?  Who build this snow dragon?

Can  you tell who it is in this photo?   The two kids selected the subject and he supplied most of the labor.  Have you figured it out yet?

Answer: Judge Eric who is also our ARBA executive director!!!  The location is PA and the two kids are his nephew and niece.

Morty Likes Angora Mittens

Maureen makes a nice pair of mittens from her black English Angora Zelda's wool.

Morty thinks it's so nice of his mom Maureen to have made him a nice Angora "sitting rug".

Morty just wishes that the Angora "sitting rug" were bigger and not so odd shaped like his mom's hand.

Monet in Hotel Rooms, Part 2

Monet went to the Florida convention with Michaela and her parents.   They checked into the hotel the night prior to the convention.   When daddy is working on his iPad, Monet got to sleep in bed with him.

Monet had her share of traveling.  In March 2011 Monet was still a baby, she traveled to New York City with Lucianna (chocolate tort), Lilianna (white), Zelda (black)  to aid the "Rabbit Fever" publicity appearance.  Pictured with the rabbits are the director of "Rabbit Fever" Amy Do and her boyfriend Matthew at the hotel room in New York City.

Monet on the left and Lucianna on the right in the hotel room.

The little bunny on the left is Monet when she was 9 weeks old.

Despite Betty's rigorous screening, Monet ended up with a breeder in Florida who had very limited ability in caring for live animals.    Monet was not cared for properly.   Fortunately Kimberly intervened and Monet was rescued.   It took Kimberly months of working on getting her back to health.   Monet is now a healthy and beautiful show rabbit again.    It is hoped that she will be successful in her next phase of life of being a good mom.

Michaela and Monet, Part 1

Michaela is very excited here, her English Angora Chu's Monet receives her third leg from Judge Mike at the Florida State Convention.

Monet arrived in Florida over a year ago but went through some hard time.  Michaela's mom Kimberly rescued her and nursed her back to health.   Both Kimberly and Michaela are very excited that Monet got granded during the Florida State Convention.

Judge Johnny awarded Monet's second leg a while ago, see how happy Michaela is in this photo!

Michaela's mom Kimberly says,

"She works VERY hard on her rabbits. There is not much TV watching here as we have a small little farm and animals come first. She is also a long distance runner so when she is not taken care of animals she is training. She did her 5k this year in 21:19 as a Sophomore. She has been on the Varsity team two years now with much improvement each year. "

Give Me the Bread, Colored English Angora, part 2

Lucia likes her bread.

Leeza is enjoying her bread.

Zeeva gets her share of the treat; she was cut down a little over a month ago.

Fawnrinda and Mesa each gets a 1/4 piece; Fawnrinda is wearing a doggie sweater after her haircut.

Swanka and Ava each gets a piece too; both had haircuts about 15-20 days prior.

Marsha at the top condo gets her treat.

Logan also gets his treat in his top condo.

Well, Blue Angel is not exactly an English Angora but she is colored; she is a broken blue French Angora junior doe.

French or English, they all like their bread treat.

Give Me the Bread, White English Angora, part 1

Betty feeds four times a day; yes, four times a day!  Her rabbits are happy four times a day.   Other than the regular rabbit pellets and hay, the treat of the day is a quarter piece of wheat bread.    Here are some of Betty's REW English Angora demanding their treat.
