Show B Angora Judging at Merced

After waiting for a few hours, Satin Angoras are called to the judging table for show B.

Doug King is the show B judge for Angoras.

Casey writes for judge Doug.

English Angoras on the table to be judged, then we got called to do show A Best In Show and the NCAG specialty show.  Three tables with Angoras at the same time.

We did not have the chance to take photos of Doug judging the English Angora.  It was a hot day, 94 degrees around that time and the show tried to get things moving fast to avoid the expected 98 degrees in the late afternoon.

Show A Satin Angora Judging at Merced

Casey continues to work as the table writer for the Satin Angora judging.
On the table is the white senior doe.

The Satin Angora white senior has a great coat and nice body too.

The colored senior bucks and does are being judged.

The colored senior buck is nice but not as competitive as the senior doe.

This a an more mature Satin Angora that shows more guard hairs.

The young girl and the mature lady are competing for the first place.

Judge Melissa likes the more mature coat better and the lady wins the class.
The BOB goes to the white senior doe that is in top prime, see the photo above.

Show A English Angora Judging at Merced

The first show of the day at Merced starts normally.  Judge is Melissa Magee.  On the table are the English Angora.  Betty taking photos while Casey works as the table writer.

It's the colored senior buck class.  Most of the seniors are in their summer coat, short to medium, to allow them to be comfortable during the hot weather.

The juniors are just coming in with their first coat, here are the two brothers attending their first show.

Judge Melissa gives good comments to the junior buck.

One of the brothers is slightly bigger and with a more mature coat.

He wins over his smaller brother and he even wins over the senior buck who is in summer attire to receive the BOSB honor.

Senior does are a different story.

Summer or winter, the big ladies like to have a good coat before going out.

The big girl still have an impressive coat.

The BOB goes to the senior doe.

Casey’s Satin Angora Wins Multi Best In Show at Merced

Look at this beauty!  This is Satin Angora Casey's Prim Rose with wool flowing in the wind.

Casey takes Rose to the Big Valley RA show on May 10, and guess what? Judge Doug King awards the Best In Show to Prim Rose in show B.

In show C, judge Courtney Collins also awards the all breed Best In Show to Prim Rose.

Northern California Angora Guild has a specialty show judged by judge Courtney; needless to say that the specialty Best In Show also goes to Prim Rose.   One happy mama Casey who is very proud of her baby.
If you wonder what happened in show A, well, the judge forgot to look at the Angoras that were on the back table during the Best In Show judging.   After realizing the mishap and after examining Prim Rose, she commented that Prim Rose probably would have won Best In Show in show A as well.    Such a beauty.
