Getting Ready to Show at San Jose

On Saturday morning, we are getting ready for triple open shows.

The showroom at San Jose is huge, altogether 33,000 square feet.   We took a corner so that we could groom indoors.    Casey is getting her pretty Satin Angora Prim Rose ready for show.

Prim Rose is a good girl, sitting still to be blown groom.

Almost ready to go onto the table.

Betty puts her grooming stuff next to the door.  Actually there are so many doors that entering/exiting is very easy.

Aurelia is waiting to be groomed.

Aurelia is very calm, going to show is something she enjoys to do.

Moody Blues Wins All Breed Best In Show at San Jose

In show E, the last open show of the weekend, American Fuzzy Lop Moody Blues gets the nod from judge Courtney Collins as the Best In Show winner.  Mama Carol is very happy.

Judge Courtney evaluates Moody Blues on the Best In Show table.

Happy Mama Carol does not have any "blues".

Moody Blues likes her prizes, mine, mine, mine, I won them!

There are 52 breeds in the ARBA standard of perfection.  Usually there are 20-30 breeds shown in our local area.  With 5 open shows, there are total of 10 top winners of Best In Show and Reserve In Show combined.    English Angora, French Angora and American Fuzzy Lop accounted for 5 of the wins, 1/2 of the total prize.  That's a pretty nice percentage.

Angela Wins Double Reserve In Show at San Jose

At the SCCRCS show weekend at San Jose, there are 5 open shows.  Wool breeds did well.
In the winning order, we are posting the wool breeds Best In Show and Reserve In Show winners in the order of their wins.

The French Angora is out of the winning gate first.   Angela the pretty French Angora chestnut doe won the Reserve In Show in show A, awarded by judge Doug King.   Mama Carol is very happy.

Judge Doug King is making the final decision.  He announces that three rabbits are on the top in his mind: Holland Lop, French Angora and English Angora.

In show C, Angela again wins the Reserve In Show, awarded by judge Jordan Miner.

Judge Jordan goes over Angela on the Best In Show table.

The top two rabbits on judge Jordan's list are the English Angora and French Angora.   It is rare that the top two are both Angoras but such has happened quite a few times in the past.
