Cute Little Draw String Purse

When there is a hiatus from the shows, there is time to go through the closet.   It's fun to find things that I forgot that I owned.   This is a draw string purse that I received as a gift many years ago.   So cute, rabbit ears on one side and ...

... and its cute little face on the other side.

Graceann in the Sun

Graceann was born last December.   She was just a baby when COVID shut down the shows and all activities in March.

Graceann did not get a chance to be shown until July when she was a young senior.   Miraculously, she won double Best In Show in the first double show date when CRCS put on the all breed shows at Monterey.

A month later CRCS put on triple all breed shows at Monterey again, and she won double Best In Show, while her cousin Aabel won the Best In Show in show C.

With such a great show record, Graceann deserves a photo op in the sun.

Mid-Autumn Festival 2020

Today is the Mid-Autumn Festival, the 15th day of the 8th month in the lunar calendar.   This is the only Asian festival that is associated with a rabbit, sometimes it's also referred to as the rabbit festival.

In 2006, the folklore of Churn O with her rabbit and the Mid-Autumn Festival was told on:

http://ncag.blogspot.com/2006/10/harvest-moon-festival.html

The story has been retold many times over the years since this blog started in 2005.  This year an animated movie added to the favor of the Mid-Autumn Festival:

The movie called "Over the Moon".  The story is not exactly the same as the Mid-Autumn Festival as told in the Chinese folklore but "It's a retelling of the classic Chinese Myth",   A modern day girl name Fei Fei builds a rocket ship to fly to the moon to meet the moon goddess Chang'e, according to the film synopsis.

The moon goddess Chang'e referred to in the movie should be the same as Churn O in the story above.  Due to different dialects in Chinese language, the pronunciation could be be different thus the different translation.   If you go to Wikipedia, this "goddess" has many more than two spellings to show her name.

The movie is scheduled to be released on October 23, 2020.  It's too bad as the Mid Autumn festival 2020 is today, October 1, 2020 that is the 15th day of the 8th month in the Lunar Calendar.  It'd have been even better meaning if the movie were released today.

Carol Photographs Her American Fuzzy Lops at Merced

This is Carol's first show since February 29, she had not attended any shows since the shutdown.

It's a good opportunity to take some photos of her Fuzzies.

After taking photo of her broken doe, now on the table is the solid doe.

The fuzzy is posing well for the photo op.

That's a good photo.
