Raiding Sevenah's Nestbox

Betty loves Sevenah, she has several all breed Best In Show under her wool and she is also the winner of ARBA convention Best of Breed English Angora in 2007. She is sure a beauty when she is in her show coat, but....

when Sevenah is pregnant, she plucks herself bold for her nest building, a lot more wool than needed for her bunnies.

Here is a closer look at Sevenah's "spit balls" before and after her bunnies were born.

Not wanting to waste the good wool nor wanting to suffocate Sevenah's bunnies, Betty picks some of Sevenah's wool out of her nestbox and stores them in a shoe box. This is two litters' worth of Sevenah's nestbox wool, a total of 5 ounces.

Sevenah's nestbox wool is perfect for thick-n-thin lumpy yarn, Betty spins the 5 ounces into a skein of 94 yards of fluffy and soft art yarn.

The skein is in the sink to be washed and then dried.

A Group Photo At MN Convention And Saying GoodBye

At the end of the convention, exhibitors were invited to go out at the lawn to pose for a group photo to celebrate the 50th year anniversary of ARBA. Though not all exhibitors made an effort to go to the photo session, those who went had a great time and a great memory. This photo is on the cover of the convention result book, taken by Lynn F. of CA.

Satin Club Auction

In every ARBA convention and breed national, the Satin national club has the tradition of conducting an auction to benefit the club and the breeders.

The auction is very well attended.

The auctioneer in the yellow shirt is judge Dereck from South Dakota and his helper is Robbie from Wisconsin who won the 2007 convention BIS with a Mini Satin. The two with backs toward the photo are our beloved secretary Dolores and judge Ray who are really getting into bidding.

Judge Dereck suddenly stops his auctioning and says, "Here is Betty, she must be buying a Satin to breed into Angora!"

A carved wood French Lop at the Lop booth.

BunnyRabbit.com has nice merchandise.

The pink rabbit mask is very tempting.

Angora Booth At MN Convention

Lynn and Philip are working at the NARBC booth. At the front table are the silent auction items and Lynn is handling the prizes for the winners at the back table.

When Lynn is working on the prizes, Janet is placing a bid on the silent auction items.

Display of some of the entries for the Skein and Garment contest. What kind of flowers are in the vase?

Don't ever throw away anything from your Angora, these flowers are made from the mats!

Leaving Mall Of America

There are four levels at the Mall of America. The basement is the UnderWater Adventures, the first floor is the Nickelodeon theme park, the top floor houses a movie theater then the rest are stores.

Due to low battery in the camera, Betty decided to skip taking pictures of the shops in favor of the theme park on the first floor as the shops are very similar to any of the shopping centers. This is an area where demos are being done and various shops are visible.

One more look at the Underwater Adventures board being leaving Mall of America.

Down the stairs to the light rail train station.

Bye Bye Mall of America, it has been a fun side trip.
