Santa's Jackpot Champion HGF Meara

Rabbit Producers of Santa Clara Valley always put on some addition activities than just rabbit showing in each show.  After a successful St. Patrick's Day's jackpot champion in March, they put on a Santa's Jackpot Champion competition.

Each exhibitor can enter one rabbit for $5 to compete for a $100 prize money.   There were 44 rabbits entered in the competition and the judges are ARBA judges Uno from NV and John from IA.

There are rabbit overflowing to the side tables.  There is a French Angora on the table, who's the owner?

The French Angora is the winner of the Santa's Jackpot champion; the two judges are very surprised to find out that Betty is the owner.    Betty is known for her English Angora, not French Angora.

Betty says, "Yes, it's true, HGF Meara is the Jackpot winner and she belongs to me!   I have only been her "mom" for one month, the credit of her beauty goes to Eric."

HGF Meara wishes her creator Eric a HAPPY BIRTHDAY today.

Scenes in the Show Room at Hollister

Rabbit Producers of Santa Clara Valley has been in existence for 60 years.

The Rabbit Producers of Santa Clara Valley holds their show in a very nice building with hard wood floors.   The set up is nice and the rabbits can be rolled from one location to another easily on the smooth floor.

Though it's raining outside, rabbit people are enjoying the nice warmth inside the building.

Here are some of Betty's English Angora set next to the wood panel.

Then there are more of Betty's rabbits at the corner plus the display of her fiber creations.

Cute Little Mixed Breed Rabbit

Who wouldn't love this cute face?  This little rabbit attracts more attention than the big winners in the rabbit show at Hollister.

The little boy really takes good care of his cute rabbit that he bid and won in an auction at school.   It is speculated that it's a mix of Jersey Wooly and Lionhead.  Judge Chris Z commented that it resembles a breed that she saw in Indonesia when she judged there a few months ago.

This rabbit has a complete head bang and side trimmings like an English Angora but clean little ears like a Jersey Wooly.  The body has about 2-3 inches long wool all over, the wool seems to have very good texture.   The little boy combs the wool carefully, the wool is in excellent shape.   It's just a very cute scene.
