Carolyn Goes to the State Fair

The California State Fair is going on at Sacramento.   Carolyn had a fun day there.

The California state animal is the bear, it's golden, it's the golden bear.

This is another version of the California Bear.

The first area Carolyn visited is the fresh flower and produce area.

With the wonderful weather, California is suited to growing beautiful flowers.

We like it hot, the hot peppers.

 

Kimekomi Rabbit

Carolyn has just complete another Kimekomi Rabbit Doll.

She is ready to join Carolyn's Kimekomi doll family.

Look at the detail embroidery work, beautiful.    The words on the left says, "Wecome luck and fortune".

Stanislaus County Fair Youth Rabbits

Stanislaus County Fair runs from July 11 to July 20 this year.   The rabbit barn has a good number of youth rabbits on display.

It's hot in the central valley, in addition to the big fans on the top of the barn, there's this big swamp cooler in full blast.

These are the rabbits from the Patterson FFA chapter.

It's a hot day but there are FAA members and their families enthusiastically watching and waiting for the results of the annual outing.

 

Emotional Support Chickens

Carol knits very well, she explores all sorts of fun knitting.   She knits a hen!

The pattern for this hen has a title: "Emotional Support Chicken".

Don't get stressed, I'm here to support you.

Carol knits another one to support her granddaughter Sofie.   She stitched on the eyes to make sure there is no small parts to be pulled out by a toddler.    The red eyes are realistic, but ....

Carol changes the color of the hen's eyes to black, so much better.
