Found On The Net: Panda Wanting Moon Cake
On Monday, we had mentioned in our post that "Moon Cake" is traditional food to celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival. It seems that even a Giant Panda likes the moon cake as reported on Peoplepets.com:
"Monday was the day of the annual Mid-Autumn Festival in China, which is celebrated with delicacies to honor the full moon.
This giant panda can see what's going on on the other side of the window, and we know what he's thinking: Not fair! Qing Feng, a 4-year-old panda who lives at the Yantai Zoo, got a little tease on Monday when zookeepers brought over some special moon cakes to share with the animals.
The cakes presented to Qing Feng and his panda buddy Hua Ao were made of corn flour, soybean powder, bamboo powder, eggs and apples. And not to worry – they both had their fill of yummy moon cake!"

Celebrating Mid Autumn Festival 2011
Today is the Chinese Mid Autumn Festival. White rabbit is looking at the full moon waiting for Jade Rabbit to appear.
It is the belief in the Chinese tradition that on the 15th day of the 8th month on the lunar calendar, the moon is the fullest, roundest and brightest of the year. People would go outdoors to appreciate the beauty of the moon in the evening.
This day of beautiful full moon is called the Mid Autumn Festival or the Moon Festival or even the "Rabbit Festival" due to the legend of Churn-O flying to the moon with her pet rabbit Jade. See: http://ncag.blogspot.com/2008/09/legend-of-mid-autumn-festival.html
The traditional food that celebrates this festival is called Moon Cake, very sweet and very dense.
