Fiber Packing and Presentation

 

 

 

 

To make the Angora products more interesting, we can display them in a colorful way, put them with some rabbit figurines, ...
 

 

 

If we are packing raw fiber for sale in bulk, we can use a box, or use Ziploc bags.

 

If we want to be fancy, we can wrap the raw wool in tissue paper then put in a picture of the rabbit that grew the wool and put in a description.   This method is way more time consuming so the price will have to be adjusted upward accordingly.




 

 

Chestnut, Wild Gray and Chocolate Agouti



Chestnut agouti has the color genetic codes of A-B-C-D-E-  
Within the same genetics, a modifier could make the color a lot darker than the "regular" Chestnut, such darker version is called Wild Gray in the old SOP.

The name of the modifier is believe to be called "Umbros (Darkening) modifier". (We thank Candy for finding this information).

One may ask, how would you know the Chestnut Agouti and the Wild Gray are both chestnuts?   Here is their baby picture, look at the two dark ones, they look exactly the same at birth.    

The other three are Chocolate Agouti.  What do they look like when they grow up?

Matt's Handsome Boys

 

 

 

The Big Valley show at Stockton is appropriately named "Warm Up for Convention".   The Angora exhibitors are coming out to show off their convention entries.    We saw Casey's beautiful English Angora colored junior does, Matt on the other hand has the handsome English Angora junior bucks.    These two boys have been doing really well in shows, received several legs and great comments from judges.



 

A Wonderful Birthday Wish for Betty

 

 

 

 

Lucky Betty, she got a Birthday Cake at Stockton!!!  Carolyn sure gives Betty a big surprise.

Connor's New Generation of English Angora are Making a Splash

 

 

At the ARBA convention in Portland, Connor's English Angora junior doe Mischief won BOSB in the youth show.   Three months later, Mischief was a senior with a show coat, she won over the open English Angora to get specialty Best In Show at the NWARA show plus youth Best In Show, see

After the big win, Mischief was cut down and met a boyfriend.  She is a good mom and raised a gorgeous litter.

 



Connor entered 3 of Mischief's daughters in the Oregon Fleece and Flock Festival (OFFF) on Sunday, September 25, 2016.  Competing with the open exhibitors, his three colored junior does took first, second and third out of a class of ten in the double specialty shows.
 

We see a familiar face: judge Randy!   Randy is known for being strict on both type and wool, Connor's three colored junior does pass his examination in flying colors. 

 

Judge Allen is also well-known in being an excellent judge for wool breeds (and all other breeds too), judge Allen also likes Connor's English Angora junior does.

Connor is getting ready for the ARBA convention at Del Mar in less than two weeks, we can't wait to see how his English Angora will do in the convention.
