Chris O of MA just completed a flutter scarf made from tort English Angora wool and dyed Merino blend.

Seventy miles from San Francisco there was a little train stop by the name of "Huntington" but no one called the place Huntington.  The major ranch at Huntington was owned by Miram Morgan Hill.   People riding the train wanting to get off at this stop would say, "Drop me off at Morgan Hill's place".   And the city was eventually incorporated with the name of Morgan Hill.  

The city has a very rural past.

Over the years, the city started having a downtown.

Today downtown area has business but still retains some of the rural characteristics of having an open farmers' market.

There are open stages for entertainment on Friday nights during the summer.

There is a skateboard park for youth residents.

And there are two dog parks for families and more matured residents.

The Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center

The Wildlife Education and Rehabilitation Center (WERC) has a display at the Taste of Morgan Hill event.

WERC's goal is

"W.E.R.C. operates as a temporary refuge as the organization's goal is not to tame, but to release animals back into their native habitat healthy, wild, and free."  It is licensed by California Department of Fish and Game and by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to care for native wildlife.

Brock's English Angora Colored Doe Wins Youth Best In Show and Reserve In Show

Brock's beautiful English Angora colored doe Windy Hill Genevieve has won youth Best In Show 7 times plus a Reserve In Show.  At the New Castle PA double shows on October 6, 2013 she wins a Best In Show and a Reserve In Show.

Poppy Jasper, the Rock of Morgan Hill

 

 

Poppy Jasper is a rock that only appears in Morgan Hill, CA.   There is a shop specializes in the Poppy Jasper.
 

These large polished Poppy Jasper are rare due to the size.

 

The polished Popper Jasper jewelry are not cheap, some goes into the $200 range.
 

These Poppy Jasper rocks are mostly in the natural state, Betty would find similar ones in her backyard.
 

These are polished small size Poppy Jasper rocks that tourist would buy as a souvenir from Morgan Hill.  

 

There is a Poppy Jasper film festival for short films held in the local theater in the fall.
