Betty Wins English Angora Sweepstakes First Place Again

The final national standing of the English Angora competition.

For the first place overall win in English Angora, I receive a grooming pad with the numbers printed.  I have been active in the competition for 40 years and maintain the first place finish for 34 years continuously since 1988.

One of my major show does during the sweepstakes year, Chu's Alba.

Another of my major show does during the sweepstakes year, Chu's Augustina.

These two does have won many Best In Show honors.  Each Best In Show carriers 100 points to be added to my sweepstakes bonus number.

English Angora Rabbit Of The Year 2022

The National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club calculates the BOB and BOSB points won by each rabbit.   BOB gets 2 points x the number in the breed and BOSB gets 1 point x the number in the breed.   The 2021-2022 final standings include all the shows between August 1, 2021 to July 31, 2022.

The National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club final standing has published, I am very fortunate to have all three top spots of English Angora.

The first please is Chu's Alba BC7ES, the second place is Chu's Auston BC2FR and the third place is Chu's Augustina BC8EL.

My white doe Chu's Alba BC7ES is the first place English Angora of the Year.

Pretty Alba.

For her first place Rabbit of the Year win, Alba's ear number is on the prize apron.

Auston is the second place English Angora Rabbit of the Year.  Being a buck, it's a special accomplishment to be in the top 3.   In most wool breeds, the does usually win BOB and bucks BOS, Auston has won BOB and BOS regularly during his show career.

Augustina is the 3rd place English Angora Rabbit of the Year.   It's a matter of timing, as Augustina and Alba are the same age, were competing during the same period of time.  They alternate the BOB wins, and Alba gets more points to be the first.

Medgene Booth at the Reno ARBA Convention 2022

The domestic RHD vaccine maker Medgene Lab has a booth at the ARBA convention in Reno.  It's a bit disappointing that very few people stopped by to find out more about it.    Casey and I stopped by and chatted with the rep.   I took the photo.
