Old and New Friends at Monterey

This is a photo taken at the 1997 ARBA convention at Madison, Wisconsin.   Randy Shumaker was the judge for English Angora.  Randy moved to CA in 1994 before he became a judge.   In 1997, it was the second year that he judged in the ARBA conventions, and he judged English Angora and Giant Angora.   He awarded the English Angora BOB to the chocolate tort senior doe bred and shown by Pete Chavez and Lori Williamson and the BOSB to the blue tort senior buck bred and shown by Betty Chu.   Old memories again?  Yes and no.

It's a show day at Monterey on July 31, 2022.  See who are in the picture? Betty, Randy and Lori!  We are not talking about just "remember when", we are talking about the current, the most recent show day.   Randy is in charge of CRCS shows that is going on at Monterey, Betty is an exhibitor and Lori shows up unexpectedly.    We are reunited in a photo after 25 years.  How do we look?  Do we look OK after 25 years?   Pete arrived a bit late, so he is not in this photo but we'll see him in the next photo.

The Angora Group, from left to right are Casey Jones, Lori Williamson, Pete Chavez, Pearl Chavez, guest CeCe, Carol Green, Betty Chu and Pattee Singer.   Casey and Lori overlapped in showing English Angora in the mid 1990s, Carol and Pattee were yet to start in the wonderful world of Angoras.   Pearl and CeCe were yet to be born in the mid 1990s.

Lori visits with Chris Zemny.  Chris judged our rabbits often during the 1990s.

Lori with her daughter Pearl and guest CeCe.   Another daughter Chloe left early for her job.  Here is one of the posts that has both Pearl and Chloe's photos:

CeCe is an exchange student from China.   Lori has been hosting exchange students from China for over 15 years, each would stay for 2 to 4 years until they completed their study.  CeCe has been with the family for 3 years now.
